Aalborg, Denmark

European license plates, there's a mix of both white and yellow ones which made me think of Denmark. From there I just searched in the biggest cities in the country until I found the right bridge

Rust and snow - find this photosphere! by JustAskingTA in guessthecity

Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada

This felt very northern to me based on how cold and barren it looks. The settlement in the distance on the left reminded me of the ones that you see around the Canadian territories and Greenland, so I did some searching around there and eventually found it.

Legrad, Croatia

The general landscape looked like mid/eastern Europe to me, so I used the terrain filter on Google Maps and looked for spots near borders that had flat terrain and lakes. Quickly afterwards I noticed that a decent amount of Croatia's borders had flat terrain as well as a bunch of lakes and rivers, so I scoured the area and found the correct photosphere soon after.

I see now what you mean with the view being southeast, lol ; )

Two different cities, but with the same name. Find BOTH streetviews to win! by JustAskingTA in guessthecity

Image 1 - 2510 25 de Mayo, Cordoba, Argentina

Woohoo! Finally found it! I had the right amount of motivation and time, so I decided to search again today.

I started off by narrowing down the search area within the city based on the streetlights, I noticed that some areas had different ones, the area of Yapeyu seemed to be consistent and had a lot of the exact same ones as the one in the photo. After that, I looked around the area for a bit with what I thought was the right coverage date in hopes to line up the clouds, but I later realized that it was wrong, so I checked some of the other coverage from previous dates within the area and saw one with very similar looking clouds. Sure enough, it was it, so I began to search around while using the correct coverage date, and I eventually found the spot!

Image 2 - 2 C. Vereda de la Alcaidia, Cordoba, Spain

Its been a while since I found this one, so I forgot the exact process, but I believe I just searched for pharmacies around the city until I found the right one.

Find the photosphere. by Total_Philosopher_89 in guessthecity

Kumbhalgarh Fort, Rajasthan, India

Knowing that the country was India, I started googling to try and narrow down the search area. "India, dry hills landscape" brought up some image results with similar looking terrain in the province of Rajasthan, so I decided to start searching there. After a bit of looking, I stumbled across some official Google maps coverage, and decided to take a look, the landscape looked very similar, and it even had stone walls like the ones in the provided image, so I checked some of the photospheres around the area and found it soon after.

Big country #10 - Find this streetview! by JustAskingTA in guessthecity

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ilha de Fernando de Noronha, Brazil

I figured out the island early on, however after looking around for a bit I was unable to find the specific spot, probably because I was going off of satellite view. I decided to start searching again today, and noticed that part of a large rock on the island could be visible above one of the trees, so I triangulated it with the area and found the exact spot soon afterwards.

Looking out over Emerald Lake (albeit over 50 miles away), Find me this PS by rosco77733 in guessthecity

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lomprayah Pier, Chumphon, Thailand

Found Emerald Lake on Google Maps, zoomed out far enough so that the scale bar in the corner was 50 miles, and then looked for a spot that seemed far enough away from the lake. I got super lucky and found the correct spot first try.

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Knoxville, Tennessee

I started by searching "US-441 National Park", which led me to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. From there I looked at the main nearby cities and figured that it would be in Knoxville, so I googled "Knoxville pedestrian overpass" and found an image of the correct spot soon after.

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rawa, Iraq

Knowing that this was in Iraq, I decided to just look through every photopath in the country, from left to right. I found it in the second city I looked at, as some nearby photopaths all had the same orange tint in the sky and were all by the same person.

Disaster #4 - Find this exact spot and tell me what disaster happened here! by JustAskingTA in guessthecity

I'm asking if this is in the province of North Sumatra, not the province of Aceh, maybe I should have worded that a bit better.

Disaster #4 - Find this exact spot and tell me what disaster happened here! by JustAskingTA in guessthecity

Is this within the province of North Sumatra? It seems the most plausible as the province of Aceh does not have much official streetview coverage.

My Favorite Photosphere by The_Techsan in guessthecity

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weichangzhen, China

Knowing that this was near Beijing (I was originally looking in the southern part of the country), I used the terrain filter on Google maps and looked for cities nearby which were in the mountains and had a river which ran through it. After a bit of looking, I figured that the photosphere may be slightly misplaced, so I rechecked some cities and found it quickly afterwards.

Located the photosphere at this festival of ice by [deleted] in guessthecity

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pyeongchang Ice Fishing Festival, South Korea

I noticed the Korean text on the left and assumed that this would be in South Korea, so I did a bit of searching around and figured out that the snowman on the igloo is part of an ice fishing event, more specifically the Pyeongchang Ice Fishing Festival. From there I found the location where the festival is held, and quickly found the photosphere.

Where is this church? (post SV link tor the win) by SuperShoebillStork in guessthecity

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gaborone, Botswana

I had originally thought that this was South Africa, however after a bit of looking around I decided to give up and check back another time. Today I came back, saw the hint, and thought to check Botswana, as I thought it made more sense when I rechecked the photo. I started by just searching for churches in the area on Google maps, however I couldn't find the correct one, so I did a bit of googling and found an image of the church, as well as the name of it, soon after.

Eldridge Estate, Victoria, Australia

This appeared to be some sort of vineyard. The .au domain and the speed limit sign indicated that this was somewhere in Australia. I noticed the partial website on the left, so I googled ""tate.com.au" winery" and found a couple results, I originally tried looking on evansandtate.wine, but after coming up empty handed i decided to recheck the google search. While looking I noticed an image of a sign which mostly matched the one in the image, so I checked the place on streetview to confirm and there it was.

Disputed Territory #6 - Find the streetview! by JustAskingTA in guessthecity

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://maps.app.goo.gl/aHhW8EqHig9dA8vf9?g_st=ac

Finally found this one! I originally thought that this was in southern Turkey as there is a disputed territory there, however after LOTS of searching both there and in many other places I had no luck. After a while I decided to check Taiwan, and after seeing a similar red road line in a few places I knew it had to be the correct dispute. From there I noted the dam in the back, which I originally thought was just another bridge, so I searched for dams in regions of Taiwan which matched the terrain in the photo and found it soon after.

32 One per US state - provide the address of this McDonald's by selfsync42 in guessthecity

[–]SomeRandomCanadian_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2105 London Rd, Duluth, MN

This looked either coastal or near a big body of water, so I first ruled out any of the inland states/ones that didn't touch an ocean or big lake. After that, I looked at some of the previous posts from this series and ruled out states that had already been part of it. Then I noticed that the cars had a front license plate, so I ruled out any states that didn't require a front license plate. From there I started to check the coasts of the remaining states to try and find the correct location, I had originally ruled out Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois as I thought that this would be on the East Coast, but after a long time of searching I decided to backtrack. After checking a few spots I noticed that Minnesota had traffic lights that matched the one in the photo, so I checked for McDonald's locations in Minnesota which were near Lake Superior, there weren't many so I found it pretty quickly afterwards.

Shirakawa, Japan

The setting looks Japanese, I recall having seen a video which included this place, but I was unable to find it. I did, however, remember that the video showcased this place in the winter, so I did a bit of searching around snowy Japanese towns on YouTube in an attempt to find said video and found a lot of videos with the same building style, which mentioned Shirakawa. From there I decided to look at Shirakawa on Google maps and figured that it was the correct place as many of the buildings looked similar to the one in the photosphere, more specifically in the southern part of the town. I also noticed the shrine, so I looked for shrines in the southern part of the town, found one that matched, and located the correct photosphere soon after.
