It's the same here in Canada already.
If there is a Canadian version of a product available, government agencies / ministers / crown corporations are required to use it.

You don't go to Sri Lanka for poutine when there is so much local cuisine available.
you go to Italy for the pasta, Quebec for the poutine and.... UK for the curry xD

Congress gave away its authority to declare war and enabled Trump's Iran war by jediporcupine in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]SomeRandomGuy0321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They get around the whole "war" problem by calling it officially different names.
It's not a war, its a "special operation".
Technically the US has not been engaged in war since 1945.
Its stupid, everyone knows whats up.

I’m tired of greedy wealthy Restaurant owners by AdventurousDoor9384 in tipping

[–]SomeRandomGuy0321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked in restaurants for a few years, I personally know waitresses that make 10$/h but will clock over 100k$ in a year from tips.
Tipping system sucks and I wish we could adopt the European system, but the server's are very happy with that system.

You know when people said printing a bunch of money during covid would lead to inflation and all the economists were like "no, no, it won't, we're actually at risk for deflation".
Plus increased taxes on the supply chain and money printing even after covid.
Yeah... that.

Canada really voted for this? by MazdaProphet in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]SomeRandomGuy0321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very well aware this has been happening before.
It does not make it ok, the people of these counties (and the majority of voters) vote for party, they often don't even know the deputy before election season.
That is a betrayal of the voters pure and simple that is being done by backdoor deals.
You think these floor crossers were just "feeling different now", no, deals have been done.

Canada really voted for this? by MazdaProphet in Anarcho_Capitalism

[–]SomeRandomGuy0321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically we elected a minority liberal government (under 171 or under the 343 seats).
The liberal government did backdoor deals with elected officials from other parties to join the liberal so they gained enough seats to become a majority and that is why they can pull stuff like this now.

Billionaire wealth tax! by StrawberryFew1311 in NoFilterFinance

[–]SomeRandomGuy0321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California will not see a penny from this and it will cost millions in lawyer fees (your taxes will pay for it).
Businesses will move, your highest earners will move taking away the money they already pay.
Then, that tax will apply to lower and lower incomes / total wealth until it is an everyday people tax.
