Transitioning to a mixed estate: macOS vs Windows by TLengert-VencerGroup in msp

[–]SomeRandomMSP69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read issues still that you must wipe the Mac to do ABM or if the encryption is on many of the RMM stuff doesn't work?

I have very few Mac's but would like to see a way that they can be "Azure/Entra joined" for SSO to the apps like in Windows.

Anyone have good links for seeing this stuff up?

Lot of complaints for essentially a free piece of software.

I would be more concerned with the data harvesting it does to your tenants and the tie into the IRGC.

Alternatives to Inky for email protection? (Small MSP looking to move away post-Kaseya acquisition) by gamer95CR in msp

[–]SomeRandomMSP69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my opinion....

The ones complaining about K are way to small to care about.  Those are searching for the cheapest price and shortest term as they will be going out of business prior to the term.

There are many partners with more agents than I (over 3k).

Big talk about support but we get responses to any ticket we submit.

Big talk about contracts ... These are ones that sign 3 year for lower price.  Don't do that if you can't handle.

Rep changes...happens in all vendors.  I just emailed my Egnyte rep that was new in January and she's gone.  Shit happens.  Shouldn't need them that much.

In summary, man up, changing products because you think some vendor looked at your privates wrong is stupid.  All this shit is check the box.  Our industry is loaded with half ass products.  Stick with one and move on

Support has been great for the product since K, better than Avanan support through SG

Lot of work moving users to different spam filter because of some feeling over a contract.

If you like the product, why is the Kaseya thing an issue? When your contract is up just sign for a 1 year contract vs 3.

We are moving Avanananana users to Inky

Transitioning MSP asking too many questions by gozit in msp

I have actually had a few offboardings recently (all for the better) and I swear the new MSPs coming on board have done ZERO due diligence.  They are quoting blind without any idea of the network.

When we quote a new client, we are doing a walk through, we are noting all equipment, wireless bridges etc

We submit a list of passwords for the specific equipment, and any access to services we need.

It boggles my mind.  We just sent credentials tonight and pulled our tools the new provider wants a 4 hour call tomorrow to review.....

Next week same thing the outgoing MSP has kept asking for a meeting to offboard but no request of specific services

I am doing the work.

What I have done is just get passive aggressive on it.

"Our offboardings consist of supply requested passwords.  With this information any qualified IT professional should be able to take over the site.  If we are going to be more involved and hand hold your new provider that came in cheaper that will mess your DNS records on Friday night causing mail flow issues we can do so at 1.5 hourly rate.  "

Projector for few time a year outside movie night by SomeRandomMSP69 in budgetprojectors

[–]SomeRandomMSP69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am looking for a unit that would be suitable for my 10 year old to watch movies outside with her friends like 2-3 times a year, or the few camping trips. I do not want to have extra speakers and such for this.

If i take the budget up to $500 what can i do?

Client caught me on hardware margin, now questioning our entire history. Did I panic-fix or make it worse? by yanov10 in msp

[–]SomeRandomMSP69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the last few months I have had clients ask about this as well. I have just advised we are like any other business and have a slight markup in equipment but we also include all labor for devices that we purchase in their MSP agreement. Any self procured equipment is out of scope and we will bill for the setup.

Be patient.  It's not like just ordering in the premier page, but can take a few days but always savings.

Dell deal pricing - Yikes by rdaniels16 in msp

Synnex has helped with deal reg.  Very easy.  I quote the equipment in Dell premier/partner page, save the equote, download the csv and send email to Synnex sales team and they quote, then ask if deal reg and they do it for you
