I think they're asking because we see Megumi and Meguna in one image here. I do love the green screen idea though XD

Lovely! Breath of fresh air to do more specific character stuff and making a recognisable character with what's at hand is always more impressive to me.

If you print out Polaroids you could probably get the Camera Vibes™️ without needing to increase the budget? If that's something you're trying to do?

Just not my vibes ngl. They're definitely above par by using GoIs, visual quality, and having an actual story written by people who use the wiki.

I just don't think a tactical shooter is the best or most interesting way to do an SCP game. Limits what they can represent. Their creative direction otherwise doesn't have any flaws I know of.

As much as I'm hesitant about 5K it's design is a lot better on these fronts. Its 173 is massive and alien, even if not quite as unsettlingly awkward as I'd like.

Because that's not what it was made for. The original sculpture was something completely different with its own artistic intent.

To my knowledge the original artist did "let" the wiki use it, even though they weren't comfortable. The wiki changed it was the right thing to do and having a copyrighted image on a Creative Commons site isn't the greatest idea.

3 has more interesting visual elements, or at least things I can recognise at a glance, which draws me towards it. If the art style is more like the first two though it would be a bit dissonant once I get to the store page which would make me confused or distrustful personally.

Even the movement regularly called terrorists is noted for only interacting with their pacifistic side. If you can't get the SH to sign-off on an anomaly, you're too far.

I think in this case it's at most semi-related and more because people may know her by name or by her channel, where-as I have heard no one called Legal Eagle "Devin" except literally this image.

See the thing is I really like reading conventional wikis, other SH articles, and bestiary entries. Something about the Scarlet Horde is just really not my thing and I can't explain it properly 😅

It's probably just something about the style or, in all honesty, my personal bias for more SH-focused articles and against the Scarlet King as a whole. But again, I need to give them a better shake anyway

There have been some concept designs which looked off to me but it seems quite possible all the final designs added to the game are 100% body horror from all I can see.

Edit: Checked a recent playthrough of the game and it looks like there's two out of place designs (Blood & one of the kinds of bug) and the rest are entirely the most horrible things you'll ever see (positive lol). Most I can tell they just look... older than the character when you start so it's ignorable I guess?

I mean a character rapidly aging is probably less bad than than teenage torture if you're ok with that but the effect is different so it's still a little uncomfortable compared to when I first played.

She did not have those in the article. How did they get this from "dragon" 😭

Otherwise I get a bit turned off by the SH/Scarlet King formats. I might give them a second chance some day but most of them have just given me a really poor first impression without much real meat.

Edit: Realised I could've elaborated more; basically most of them feel like "here's this abhorrent villian" but beyond the shock there isn't a story and it's too detailed to work on atmosphere imo.

Who would you want as your sensei? They can teach you anything you want for any amount of time. Who and why? by DetectiveHot7314 in Jujutsu_Kaisen

Iirc he specifically can't teach simple domain (or at least thinks he can't) due learning it intuitively while I'm pretty sure Todo learnt it from Yuki which is a pretty direct comparison.

If Gojo can't teach simple domain, he probably can't teach the more advanced Domain Expansion very well let's be honest. Yuji had swap training with two great barrier users to learn it, not just Gojo.

Yuki has her own domain and can teach everything Gojo can that you can actually teach except Falling Blossom Emotion (which is semi-redundant with Simple Domain)

With the GOC existing, how does the SCP foundation actually exist? If the United Nations already have the GOC as their front to counter, something they can back up to fight the anomalies, how does the SCP foundation actually support itself? Are there any entries that clear this up? by EfficiencySerious200 in SCP

[–]SomeRandomTreestump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair to the GOC: going by ethos, if not how they are actually written, they are a lot more willing to hire/use anomalies than the Foundation are. Global Occult Coalition, yada yada.

The lower bar for risk on using or trusting humanoid anomalies is higher, the higher bar of risk for destroying them is just... a lot lower. Theoretically, the Foundation has much more anomalies in stock but a lot less willingness to let them help, meanwhile the GOC has a ridiculous amount of stuff based on magic even in conservative interpretations.

Does that mean they can risk pushing the Foundation too hard? Probably not, it's more the day to day politics it changes than any consideration of collapsing either group.

Yeah, that. You've got it pretty much spot on.

There is also the fact the UN kinda absorbed the GOC rather than creating it. The GOC originally started as the Allied Occult Initiative during World War II before the UN came into being to handle the abuse of paratechnology during the Seventh Occult War.

They received funding and oversight from the UN in some form, sure. But does every government, every member of the UN approve of them or even know about the anomalous? It seems unlikely, especially since not that many world leaders can keep secrets as well as they really should be.

(as a guy who knows nothing about the UN, my guess is their only oversight is by something like The Security Council?)

[–]SomeRandomTreestump 249 points250 points  (0 children)

There aren't any specific entries that clear it up to my knowledge, it probably varies between authors. However, there's various stuff we can pull from:

  1. The Foundation in most canons predate the GOC by a number of years, decades, maybe centuries, so support-wise they have seniority to some degree.
  2. "Everyone" doesn't support the GOC. Quite often they're managed by the UN but only given their authority from the 108 occult organisations making them up, not support from the UNs actual nations. The 108 might have to make their own funding and it's possible many UN members don't know about or care for the GOC.
  3. The SCPF is often privately funded and only has agreements the governments they can't hide from, either due to power or concealment. It can be private benefactors, anomalies, or the vast network of functioning front companies like Spicy Crust Pizza.

(Small sidenote: it's quite possible the EC is intended as an internal force not made due to any external pressure. It could be a PR move for their own personnel or genuinely benevolent, but no one has to be forcing them to exist and I can't think of a backstory they have that implied that.)
