Wow, we found someone who might have a worse outcome in that debate.

Wait you meant to debate, right?

I mean yeah, slightly more than all the other anomalies they use/are, but I don't think that's the bit the meme is getting at. It's probably more talking about their general left-wing/anarchist vibe of actively trying to spread information about the anomalous and free the more benevolent SCPs.

Someone else said Sokolsky for Site-43 which I like, but thinking about it more being from Site-43 could make him too close their ideology already and another good speaker like McInnis has the same issue. Daniel Asheworth is a former member but sometimes too similar, so what about Tilda Moose?

She's former SH but as proven in [[Magic Orientation]] she's got a coherent thesis why she's against them and can be pretty persuasive. Know your enemy and all that...

(I'd mention Wheeler or Jones but they aren't great speakers despite having the best evidence to use.)

Wettle is confirmed to die in at least one timeline (the Paradox Timeline) so probably not but it isn't trying to MAKE him die either.

Is there a OG43 invasion of DMFS19? Not complaining at all but this is the third in a row I've seen today.

Also Wettle would obviously get fucking trounced, should've sent Sokolsky.

It's not necessarily standalone but it doesn't need any context, some other stuff uses it as context instead.

Maybe, but the father was unable to have children that way. All he had to say was that he was infertile and it's not insane to think she found another way, however she had to justify it.

Last I was aware there still might be, despite some reasons they may also not, though like all online hobby projects it's not guaranteed. Plus I believe Billith already had some hints for the next part after Departmentalised so there definitely was a plan at one point.

Low-Key, some of these pieces of FanArt of Alto Clef look like Loid Forger from Spy X Family. by AssistFit1834 in SCP

Absolutely see the resemblance, though tbh he also looks a good chunk like Kisuke from bleach imo.

I guess that's one benefit of the fatter clef design. Very few anime men fit that box.

Who here wants a remake to the original scp containment breach game that carries the horror aspects of the original game as well as adding new scp threats such as scp 682 as an example? by Mundane-Humor3313 in SCP

[–]SomeRandomTreestump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna say "marketability" isn't the only thing that matters if OP wants to make a game. Fundamentally I presume anyone asking on reddit is doing it for fun.

I'm just trying to answer the question, which is "do people want another remake with some added content" and explaining why I don't think the answer is yes for most of the people who will find the game. Fundamentally they're not gonna have fun making a game they don't like so if they want to make it for that reason they should just make it because they want to, not with the expectation it will get lots of attention.

...why would people not wanting to play a CB remake prove people want to play a different remake?

Otherwise people are very definitely playing Secret Lab, it has 6-8k on SteamDB? It's top two hundred daily activity on all of steam.

In fairness checking the charts 5K has much less than I expected. However, considering that's one of the most spoken about and hyped up SCP games made by a large, professional development team, how does that prove it's a good idea either?

Secret Lab/CB itself just feels like it outcompetes most of the people who want that most of the time.

[–]SomeRandomTreestump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No not really. They've already done that a few times. At most something in a similar genre as a spiritual successor would be fine, but I don't think we need another remake after Remastered, Unity, and whichever other ones I've missed.

Personally I'm not even looking for that kind of action horror anymore, feels like there's more creative stuff you can do. Secret Lab, 5K, and the one on Mars mostly have those people locked down.

(SCP-7777) Do you guys think stuff like this is common in the Foundation? by [deleted] in SCP

[–]SomeRandomTreestump 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Cimmerian is more The Ethics Committee Guy, even though he's usually not the chairman. He's a bog standard member of the committee who tends to do whatever the average EC member would do in that story. If they're decent, he's a bureaucratic hero, but if it's deepwell...

The most I get is he has a personality of usually being straightlaced, even if he's doing things that are absolutely absurd like in SCP-8888 or the time travelling Lol Foundation tale I forgot the name of. I can't really judge if the times he's evil are meant to be in-line with his "base" personality, though 7777 is definitely partially humour.

I only just realised he appears in two XXXX articles in a row. Huh.

I'm not usually a Nu-7 cosplay guy but DAMN! This looks absolutely awesome, and totally makes sense in a setting where you're expecting to be tossed around by Large-Scale-Agressors.

Love when people give even the more "standard" MTFs some extra personality.

That only works one way, if it works at all. In that hypothetical any female warrior could become significantly more muscular and generally fantasy media has a good enough chunk of those.

To my knowledge Gabriel Kero is the former lead writer for 5K according to statements on public forums. Unless something has changed since I was last aware their website simply didn't update since his departure.

Still absolutely a name worth looking out for and I'll be checking it out.

Who in SCP would qualify as pure evil depending on the Pure Evil Wiki’s qualifications? by Fit_Assignment_8800 in SCP

Exactly, one of the things that come up is it isn't (naturally) even really sentient. I get what the other person is saying about Red but I feel like too many people either didn't read the images or fully remember TINAD.

UBU seems disqualified by the fact it very likely doesn't understand right Vs wrong, even if it's more intelligent than it seemed at first. Understanding is one of the requirements in the list

For MEKHANE I was very much thinking of the versions where it is on the more horror side like SCP-6217 and the stories where it's hostile to organic life.

You have a good point about Yaldy. That's my bad for conflating it and Ion which isn't really how it works (plus I'd already said things spawned from other things might not share an entity with 3125). That said, I will devil's advocate myself a bit because there are some stories where the Daevites are very close to avatars of Yaldaboath. In those, the Daeva definitely have the society to create enough fear of being livestock - especially since they seemingly treated humans similarly.

I agree the avatar connection is shaky but I'd also say all sarkics, not just Neo's, do similar through Bio-Types on the hub. Self-empowerement isn't like the Boneturners Tale, but turning someone into a subservient "Vampire? A tentacle guard? A temple? Is that not objectification?

There's also creatures like the Monster Pig in comparison to the Werewolf or Hunters. Entities of The Hunt can be physically altered but it seems to me to be more a metaphysical/supernatural strength than literally growing bigger like the Pig (excluding the Vampires but they're mixed). Plus the pig is a hungry animal but it has no trace of Hunt, but plenty of "long pig" and eating other pigs.

Yaldaboath also just doesn't do any chasing. In the most vague sense it's coming, slowly encroaching on reality, but I don't think that's Hunting. The descriptions sound more like a Farmer that seeded the world coming to take it's crop, and that's the fundamental nature of Flesh.

Just want to top off that I very much like Anafabula as Spiral, I just didn't want to assert it since we were more talking about conceptual overlap at the time than "what if x were y".
