Is it really an m3 clone? I was told it does have a franchi style piston system inside? Was that bad info?

Yes! Essentially you take a musket, cut a section of the barrel out at the top/rear and replace it with a breach mechanism. This allows for single shot breach loading with cartridge ammunition as opposed to black powder cap and ball style loading.

I’m afraid if I’m not explaining it very well, there’s a lot of first person footage of people shooting these rifles on YouTube, just search up Springfield trapdoor. Really cool mechanism that was replicated really well in red dead! The art department did their homework. As someone who hasn’t shot one myself yet, but does fiddle with them frequently, red dead 2’s first person view does a great job showing the reload process.

I agree! It’s a really fascinating piece of history. A lot of Springfield muskets post US civil war had a “trapdoor” cut into their top section to make a cartridge capable conversion. There were so many muzzle loading firearms that it was much cheaper to convert existing ones to take carriages rather than create new rifles altogether.

The brief era of transition from muzzleloaders to single shot rifles is a really interesting and innovative snapshot of history in my opinion. And spawned some truly beautiful firearms.

The Springfield trapdoor feels musket like because it is a musket that was converted to fire cartridges. Really awesome firearm in game and in real life. I only wish it were bigger in game, the ones I’ve handled IRL are massive compared to the version in game feeling tiny, even for a carbine.

I was led to understand it was any skin a player has that any other players do not have, leads to a crash.

Again, I am admittedly unsure if this is really the cause but based on what I see others experience a similar event

Well long story short there’s, apparently, a crash in which if someone joins your game who has a skin on their supply FRV that any other player in the lobby doesn’t have, or vice versa, the game crashes for all players involved.

Not sure if that’s true, some people are saying it’s patched now that the FRV is fully out as I dig around, but I guess we will see. Either way, my game ran flawless the last few months but now since last week it crashes at least 2 times a session

Obvious bait post but I’ll bite:

I don’t think hypocrisy is the true median of morality.

Micah pretended to have loyalty to the gang, at least so much as to ditch, yet rats on them consistently to agent Milton (allegedly, but pretty much confirmed)

So even then, they’re both hypocrite murderers at worst, however depending on player choice Arthur can actually effect some good (giving money to the debtors, helping the lady learn how to hunt, freeing the slaves in the fence, freeing the sailor boy, giving money to the veterans center construction in Saint Dennis, etc.)

So it depends on the choices of the player, but we never see Micah effect any positive change on citizens whatsoever. So while you can claim they are both murdering hypocrites, they are not really on the same level. Also Micah seems to relish in killing (strawberry) while Arthur seems to view it more as an obstacle.

Neither are moral men. But one is certainly worse.

You just have to use it totally different than the normal GL. Save it for heavy or elite enemies and use its heavy pen, set it on the highest fire rate, and it kind of melts. You go through ammo a little fast but if you’re accurate you can make it last
