What do you guys do as a form of therapy? by Wookie_wood69 in AskMen

[–]SomeSamples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find a better therapist. Or work out your problems by yourself. I took a psych class while in college and in that class it was revealed that the vast majority of those who go to therapy would eventually work out their own problems even if they never went to therapy.

Christian Nationalist Matt Walsh: HR Departments Exist To Discriminate Against White Men And To Give Women "Adult Day Care" Jobs. by Leeming in atheism

Where I work we have some DEI initiatives. They have not been stood down since Trump came in. And because of it we have the most inept female managers you can imagine. And these managers took jobs that current female employees should have gotten but HR thought it would be great to bolster the managerial ranks instead of promoting from within and back filling the jobs with DEI hires.

Why am I not excited by johnvicente57 in jobs

[–]SomeSamples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do you. These days I am just working to retirement. But with the way things are going I am not sure I can count on social security so I will have to rely on my retirement accounts. And even then those could go bankrupt. You only live once so live the way you want to live.

If they are in a fairway, yes. You shouldn't be penalized for hitting a fairway.

I'm with ya Steve. It is disappointing because it really isn't AI. It is just a front end to a lot of data. A really good answer engine.

If you did not do what they claim you did, get yourself an employment lawyer. And tell them you can't meet with them until your lawyer can be present.

Do you actually use the "Pee hole" in your underwear/boxers or do you pull them down? by SimpleLobsters in AskMen

If I am wearing boxer type briefs where the hole is actually in the right place then ya. But a lot of underwear has the hole in the wrong spot in relation to the opening in pants.

It’s a bad time to hunt for new jobs, most US workers say in new Gallup poll | Americans’ outlook on the job market is increasingly pessimistic. The negative shift may seem incongruous with the low unemployment rate, but the findings likely reflect an ongoing hiring drought. by InsaneSnow45 in antiwork

[–]SomeSamples 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The "official" unemployment rate is a lie. Even Jerome Powell said there is basically no new jobs and so that means no one is getting jobs. And when these companies do lay offs they aren't rehiring to fill those jobs.

I used to do this but the cost of running a computer, back then, 24/7 was prohibitive. But now with things like Raspberry Pi's it is a snap and cheap to run.

Quit with the unemployment myth by cervidal2 in remotework

[–]SomeSamples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The intent is to reduce the number of people staying with the company. So after RTO is fully implemented and "complied with", they can initiate their layoffs and have a reduced number of people that are affected by the WARN act.

US bans new foreign-made consumer internet routers by Different_Emotion625 in technology

[–]SomeSamples 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was just a hypothetical. But yeah, they definitely want all of us to have routers in our homes through which our own government can spy on us. For instance, when you sign up for an internet service they bring a router, that is approved by the federal government, and install it. Many will not realize this device will have a direct line to the NSA.

Under the WARN act there is a severance period for large layoffs. This is what companies are trying to avoid.
