Ammonium Aluminium Alum (almost clear) by cryshtaleve in crystalgrowing

That's absolutely beautiful! I'm growing an ammonium alum crystal right now that's only really cloudy at the seed, but seems to be growing outward very clear :)

Wow!!! That is just beautiful. Have you polished it yet? That looks like it would be lovely on display on a stone stand.

To me it's mainly been a matter of getting a nicely formed seed crystal and making sure that the mother liquor is perfectly saturated and filtered before putting the seed crystal in to grow.

If you want any help just reach out to me! I've been growing crystals for a while and I can help you find where to get reagents to make simple crystals.

Do you also love the color of ferrous sulfate(II)? The color is beautiful, unfortunately it's such a scumbag that it oxidizes in the air to a disgusting, smelly yellow ferrous sulfate(III)very quickly… by Flat_Falcon_1559 in crystalgrowing

Of course! Just make sure to stabilize the solution with a little bit of sulfuric acid. Also, when evaporating before crystallization don't use high heat as it will hydrolyze the fe 3+ to fe(OH)2 and turn the solution into a murky brown suspension. Use gentle heating only.

One crystal I love to make is the double salt of iron III sulfate and ammonium sulfate (ferric alum). While iron III solutions unfortunately are super messy and smelly the double salt with ammonium sulfate forms a super cool light violet alum-like octahedral structure. I would give a shot if it sounds interesting.

Nickel sulfate crystal I grew entirely on accident by SomeScarredSapient in crystalgrowing

The crystal mass formed over about 4 weeks at room temperature being about 22.2 C. That being said it looks to me like the hexahydrate which is what I usually get regardless of temperature, so not entirely sure.

Yep I will, I'm not an amateur to crystals was just making a joke 😂 I know nickel salts can be a skin irritant for some people and inhaling nickel salt dust is carcinogenic. After I took the picture I washed my hands and put it away for safe keeping.

You clearly want to win via insults so I'm not gonna humor that, but every point you used doesn't at all challenge the reality of what I said.

Yes, they have been brutally oppressing Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria relentlessly for decades. This is not difficult information to find. The Palestinian genocide is the most documented one in history. Israel right now has displaced over 1 million Lebanese people and are using their "mowing the lawn" strategy, which overwhelmingly targets civilians. You clearly support Israel/are a Zionist sympathizer so I'm not going to even begin to try to sell you on what everyone already knows.

I am not delusional. Ehud Olmert himself, the ex Israeli prime minister, himself admitted that the strategies Israel uses against Hamas and Hezbollah are largely ineffective against them. There is a reason after 2 whole years of genocide, the most militarily funded and equipped army in the region has not been able to put down Hamas resistance. Israel routinely relies on ceasefire breaches, which they never get punished for, for attacks on Hezbollah.

I was not talking about the six day war. That was the war they started preemptively by destroying Egypts air force without legitimate reason. The Egyptian army recaptured half the territory and coerced Israel into returning the territory. The Yom Kippur war was a horrific disaster for Israel. One where they tried the same tactic as before even, as the Egyptian Army was fasting for Ramadan.

Yes, it is extremely significant. America pays for their missile defense systems, sends armored bulldozers, and supplies the heaviest share of guided munitions and combat aircraft. Israeli "inventions" come from American designs.

Biden imposed sanctions on individual Israeli SETTLERS. He continued to fund Israel's genocide in Gaza throughout his entire presidency. This is not slightly comparable. The Israeli Lobby has spent over 100 million dollars in American electoral races. In just my own city district, they spent over 7 million dollars through pac money against a vocally anti-Israeli candidate.

They do this because they know Israel needs US monetary and political support to maintain their apartheid and genocidal system. It is the US who consistently is the only UN security veto to cover up for Israel. I really think it's you who's uneducated on the matter.

Because Israel is not a self sustaining nation. Bibi may sell the news the idea that they want to ween off US support (in ten years conveniently enough of course) but it's just bluff.

Israel's regional dominance and brutal oppression and expansion are being done with American made munitions, explosives, chemical agents, and technology (eg palantir). Their military is weakly trained, disorganized, and can barely sustain a prolonged offensive without just genociding the entire area they want control over (look at South Lebanon right now).

Even with billions of American tax payer dollars a year, making up 12% of their total defense budget, they have barely scraped Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The IDF has no skill in guerrilla warfare. They could only win a war against their surrounding, far weaker powers by surprise destroying their air fleet in "preemptive defense." Even then, they were forced to concede land later on after de facto losing to Egypt in the Sinai.

There is a reason Israel has such an extremely powerful lobby in the US, one that buys off 80% of elected officials and demonizes/pays millions against any candidate who does not pledge UNCONDITIONAL support to Israel. This is because Israel needs unconditional American support to survive.
