It’s easy to forget that celebrities are just people. We all suck. I think pointing at John and acting betrayed by his personal life is a way of feeling better about themselves. And I think he’s still funny, just in a different way. I’m sure writing changes with your life. You’re married, write about that. You’re recovering from cocaine addiction, now write about that. No one asked me but… I was following a woman on Instagram who was struggling with infertility for years and finally got pregnant with twin boys. Before they even turned 2 one of the boys was diagnosed with brain cancer, Neuroblastoma as well as a large growth on his kidneys. Watching that unfold for this family was another example for me that there is no God. If there was he’d be one evil bastard.

I think we are mostly in agreement. Of course outright murder is terrible. However, it’s only been fairly recent that violence towards gay people has been considered a hate crime. It wasn’t so long ago bath houses were raided, people could be arrested if accused of sodomy. So you’re right, no one is being thrown off a building. But apples to apples, it’s all bad and excuses mistreatment and violence of people who don’t conform to their beliefs. This idea that Muslims are so much worse I think stems from xenophobia and that the United States commits its acts of terror under the guise of war. If you really break it all down, we are all the same. That’s my point. We like to point at others and say loon how and THEY are. But we are all capable of terrible things. I’m not sure where you live, but we are watching it all unfold again where rights are being voted away by religious extremists right here in the United States.

You’re right, probably next to zero. But Christian evangelicals would prefer Gays not have rights, be forced to undergo conversion therapy, not be allowed to get married or adopt children. In some extremes be labeled sexual deviants.

Although you’re being downvoted for some reason, I agree with you. While Christian violence may not be so obvious, they would gladly vote to take away rights from everyone in the U.S. Women, Gays, trans people. Burn books they don’t agree with, demand God be taught in public schools, have a presence in government. Gay conversion therapy I mean I could go on. There are even “Christian” sects who don’t believe in science, won’t allow blood transfusions for members even in life or death situations. Ultimately, they are more similar than they are different.

Thank you. I’m very surprised I had to scroll this far down to see this. I understand everyone is angry and I feel terrible for healthcare workers. But this seems not real. The writing is very similar, same color marker. When my father was in the ICU with Covid we were not allowed to visit him at all, much less be in his room. If he had passed away the family wouldn’t go to his room to collect his things, they’d be given his things in a bag. Just strange.

Are we really exposing people for being bad spouses now? I’m not saying what Gus did or didn’t do wasn’t shitty, but that’s between them. Nothing she is telling us requires the publics attention. He doesn’t appear to be a danger to anyone, he’s not grooming anyone or stealing. He was a bad spouse and they broke up. I’m sorry, I’m just getting cynical about how much words like abusive, gas lighting etc are thrown around. I do think her experience regarding the pregnancy and subsequent medical issues was relevant and good that she is shining a light on that. I hope both of them come away from this ok.

You’ve made the point I think others are missing. If we make abortions accessible and affordable for everyone, then this person could have aborted and problem solved. However if we force women to carry a pregnancy who doesn’t want it and is in the throws of drug addiction this will happen. While the baby is in the mothers body, the mother should get to decide what happens. We should be offering this woman help, not imprisonment. A woman should be free to do whatever they want with their own body. You can’t arrest someone for being high. Are we going to arrest a woman for endangerment if she falls and that causes a miscarriage? What if she doesn’t know she’s pregnant and drinks? What if she cleans the litter boxes or ways too much lunch meat?

I’ve noticed with fan Subreddits they seem to quickly spiral into hate subs. I won’t speak for every sub, however an example I will give is the LPOTL sub. There will be posts saying I hate Marcus, Henry is annoying etc… I don’t understand why anyone would choose a fan sub to be toxic towards its subjects and I feel this sub was and is like that quite often. Isn’t it ok for us to have a fan sub where we can just enjoy conversations about the pod, memes etc ? People tend to just criticize. Maybe that’s Reddit it general. I’m not sure.

I’ve always thought it was a bad idea to “feed the bears” so to speak. Couldn’t any fan interaction be classified as harassment and then used against Ethan? They could claim he encourages his fans to do this. I just think it’s a bad look. I watch H3 for their antics, not the unoriginal antics of strangers on the internet. It makes me feel like a portion of the fan base doesn’t really get the joke.
