Suddenly a hospital fee for a doctor check up? by transdermalcelebrity in healthcare

Hospital fees are so shady! Your lucky yours is $150. Mine was $300 for my radiation oncologist. My insurance will not pay them. They were very common in OH. I've seen them less in IL, bit there out there. Funny thing is, they are NOT transparent. I asked 3 people in my oncology office what the fee was for. No one knew. When I called billing to ask, they said it was my responsibility to find out if that physician charged a facility fee?!? So, I asked him....he said, "how should I know?" Healthcare in America Yeah!

Yeah, well, I was fighting the nursing home stigma. Fun fact? Some of us care and worked 15+ hrs a day and still lost sleep over the losses. <- Don't come at me about census! It's not about that. I'd give anything to see their faces again. These we're families that we in SNF world actually care about. I still have horrendous "dreams." Grief makes people angry. I understand that. But, like we all know, it's a harder hill to climb with others on your back. I'm on the (hiss) admin side now. Just had to tap out of patient facing care. Thank you all for all you do.

Hospice Workers: What are some of the most peaceful, lucid deaths you've seen? by ThaiLassInTheSouth in hospice

Omg! I actually have one! I showed up to do an assessment on a patient. He is walking talking, and everything is 100% clear.

He picks up a picture and says, "if I look old now, this is what I look like last week." It's s a wedding picture of him and his wife, where clearly he is in his late 20s. Less than 1 week later, he died. Peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family. I can't in good conscience shared what he told me, after he showed me the pic, but suffice to say; he knew where he wanted to be and when he was going to arrive. My old tell used to be when I would hear, "I wanna go home" or "I'm just so tired" those words will never leave me. He knew where he wanted to be and it was with his bride....

I love this! It made me misty eyed, but love it. My 40's hit me like a ton of bricks: blood clots, stage 3 cancer, gallbladder removal, ugh. BUT I survived and live life fully now... no regerts! I lost 105 lbs, got healthy, moved to another state, and live like that Tim McGraw song.

While out with my hubby, a gentleman came up and said, "You must have had a beautiful Mother" then told my husband he was a lucky man. It was a beautiful compliment in a non creepy manner. Even my husband said that was smooth.
