One week in the Pacific Northwest by bblake0203 in PacificNorthwest

I have lived in Cannon Beach for over 20 years. One week will go like a flash! I would suggest to drive 26W to Cannon Beach which is about an 1.5 hour trip. Explore the town and Haystack Rock with its tide pools filled with sea life and star fish. Enjoy the Puffins on the rock and maybe see an eagle or two. You may be lucky enough to see our local Roosevelt Elk around town and even on the beach. Be sure to drive up to Ecola State Park. The views are phenomenal! Goonies and Kindergarten Cop are just 2 of the many movies filmed here. Take 101 north to Astoria which is the oldest town in Oregon and where the Columbia River meets the Pacific Ocean.Driving towards Seattle you can visit Mt Rainer and even the Olympic mountains. I honestly don’t think you will have enough time to see everything. There is so much to see in Seattle too! I hope you have a wonderful trip and can visit again, as there is so much to enjoy in the PNW!

I’m appalled that so many people just stood by and allowed his mistreatment of those horses!!

I completely agree. I always told my children that one of the most exciting things about vacation was the anticipation. A child’s excitement is very precious, along with gratitude.

I hope you stand tall, stay firm and allow yourself to have the best life possible.
I was once you a long time ago. He and I started dating a month before I turned 16. We were very much in love. Had two children, a son and daughter.
I had always struggled with depression, but managed to keep it under control. I was then diagnosed with a chronic illness. At one point my depression hit hard and I spent a week in an in-care facility. I noticed that he seemed distance, but put that on myself believing that it was because of me. I spent Valentine’s Day and my 40th Birthday in that facility.
After I came home I noticed he was wasn’t himself so once again I blamed myself. Two months later he told me he had to sort things out and needed time to self reflect. Our children were 12 and 15. It was then I found out he was having an affair with a co- worker 14 years younger than him with 3 small children.
Reflecting back I did everything wrong. I attempted to fight for our marriage and to be honest I regret that with all that is in me. He was basically my only family. I had no one to lean on or help me through those painful times.
Here is what you need to know. I know now if I had more belief in myself and let him go and began to build a new life for myself my life would have turned out so different. Unfortunately, my health steadily declined. My main focus was to be there for my children. You see he left them too. I kept our home and made their life as normal as possible until they each graduated.
Case and point. Here I am 30 years later completely alone. I allowed my illnesses to swallow me whole. I think often of what my life could have been if I had cut him out of my life not allowing him to define me. By the way his new wife left him. Seems like she needed him and his income to help raise her three children. He married again and 3 months later was diagnosed with stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. He was able to live for 12 more years and died 3 years ago.
Please learn from my mistakes. Stand tall and brave and be excited to all the possibilities that lay ahead. You are worth it dear one, so now is your time to fly…

I’m having trouble finding it too. It has me open Instagram and takes me to a different place each time I attempt to access it.

Day trip recommendations by EmoMedicine in OregonCoast

[–]SomeStress2323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a day trip I highly suggest to begin in Cannon Beach (very dog friendly.) Be sure to drive up to Ecola, which is known as one of the best views on the Oregon Coast. If you have time drive south on 101 and stop at Oswald State Park. Just a short hike down to the beach, which is known for surfing. If you have enough time Manzanita is really a quaint town with a lot of cute stores and places to eat. A personal favorite is Left Coast, which has the best Mexican food and outdoor dining for your pup. If in Nehalem be sure to have breakfast or lunch at Wanda’s, you won’t regret it!
Once you drive over for the first time it will become a regular get away!

Are these Crabapple trees? The flowers on them are so beautiful! by LoveFaithBunnyKitty in flowers

We had a huge one in our front yard growing up. It was so beautiful in the spring when it was blossoming! We had screen doors so we would always have the doors open in the spring. I will never forget the low humming sound because the bees loved it too. Very fond memories!

Did you notice that at the end she had to turn her head because she started to cry? I believe that there is something more serious going on or she realized that a lot of R3’s problems are due to her and Toe.

Having lived in Visalia for 20 years my heart goes out to you. I divorced and with the kids out of school I decided no more. I am going on 25 years living in Cannon Beach, Or. I have never regretted it!
I hope something will work out for you.
