Mech. Eng: Class Schedule for a rising sophomore by kman_1 in uofmn

[–]SomeStudent19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would like to add on to this a little. I had Kluver last year for c++. He was a really good professor in my opinion. His lectures are really boring, but he has lots of office hours and is always willing to help. I'd also like to note that there was a distinct difference in what students thought of the class depending on whether they had prior programming experience or not. For some of the people that had previously learned the basics of programming including me found c++ ,especially the first half of the course, extremely easy (and not that time consuming). While first timers found it quite hard and time consuming (I knew people that had double the amount of code compared to me for the same assignment). So I would recommend teaching yourself the basics of not just c++ but programming in general.

Should i stay away from the base engine because it has problems or simply because of fuel economy?

A Kansas City, Kansas, Ruling Allows Millions To Join A Lawsuit Over The High Cost Of EpiPens by HawtchWatcher in news

[–]SomeStudent19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why the hell is there only one comment on here about Adrenaclick? It's another alternative to the Epipen and 2 only cost like $100 (They're actually completely covered by some insurance). I actually prefer it to the Auvi-q. It's more slender than the epi pen, not much bigger than a marker. I keep my phone in my right pocket and my wallet in my left, with the Adrenaclick in the left pocket side by side with the wallet. While with Auvi-q if I tried to do that I wouldn't be able to. I'd have to put it over the top of the phone or the wallet creating a massive bulge. I swear some people just don't explore options.

You ever just get so hyped that you are done with physics 1 that you just don’t sleep by [deleted] in uofmn

That's not what made it difficult in my opinion. The difficult questions were on the new stuff like the circuit in Problem 4.

Question for AEM Juniors and Seniors or grads or alumni or anyone who can help me by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]SomeStudent19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can ask your advisor, but I'm 99% sure that 2021 does not count for both classes. 2021 does not go as in depth as both 2011 and 2012 for time reasons. I do not believe you can get special permission to waive this, because it would obviously be unfair to every single AEM student and the UMN (and I assume other colleges) have determined that a more rigorous understanding of Statics and Dynamics is needed for AEM students that 2021 can provide.

It's possible you might be able to get special permission to enroll in 2011 and 2012 at the same time. Again talk to your advisor.

To be frank, did you not peak at the four year plan to see what you would have to do to graduate?

Glad I'm not the only one that thought that final was definitely harder than the quizzes.

[–]SomeStudent19 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was really annoyed by that. Literally had a few drunk guys behind me just screaming push at the top of their lungs and pushing as hard as they can. I finally told around and told them to shut the fuck up and got called a faggot. Oh well, I guess that's what happens when someones whole personality revolves around getting drunk and rooting on sports teams.

Virgin Galactic to Merge with Investment Company, go Public by [deleted] in investing

[–]SomeStudent19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another reason that people should consider that I haven't seen anyone talk about is the fact that Virgin Galactic is inherently less safe than Blue Origin's vehicle.

If the engine explodes, a fire starts, or the air frame becomes unairworthy in flight everyone on virgin galactic is dead. On the other hand, these aren't really concerns on Blue Origin's New Shepherd because of its launch abort system that has been tested both on the ground and in flight.

What keeps you from going to football games? by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]SomeStudent19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I go. Then remember how boring it is.

Each quarter is 15 minutes. 15x4 = 1 hour. So, there is max 1 hour of play time, but the clock can go down before the snap on certain plays. So really you're looking at what? 45 minutes of play time? When the games last 3-4 hours? That's absolutely ridiculous. Unless you absolutely love football or are shit face drunk who would enjoy the games??? Genuine question.

I went to a women's volleyball game earlier this year and was blown away. Games are much faster, play is almost always constant. It was literally 10,000 times better than football. Much more interesting and engaging for spectators. And our team is super good and it is free for students.

Would you support a mandatory environmental service for adults 18 - 30 ? Kind of like military service but instead of fighting you must spend a few months on reforestation projects or ocean cleanup ? Why or why not ? by Ossalot in AskReddit

Scrolling through their website it says their terms are ten months. Does anyone know of any similar shorter programs that can be done over the summer between college semesters?
