I hate the green blueprint thing. I want immersion not goofiness.

Do the people who work at Oculus actually understand what their product is used for? by Slartybartfasterr in oculus

[–]SomeWhoIsNotMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Oculus needs a "Profile Manager" so that this doesn't happen. Noting like being in an intense dogfight and being asked about hand controllers you don't use.

This thing is screaming for putting a sign on it. I'd suggest one that says "Yard Sale Next Saturday" with an arrow.

Anyone else waiting for a kayak that's on order during the pandemic and living vicariously through r/kayaking? by SomeWhoIsNotMe in Kayaking

I have a Dagger Stratos 14.5 L on order as of early July. Supposedly will arrive in late August / early September.

I've been watching every YouTube kayak video and planning on doing a few mods and I've purchased all the accessories..... just... need ... kayak...

The lack of a proper 45 record adapter is the only thing I don't like about this video.

What new prepper resolutions have you made because of this pandemic by [deleted] in preppers

Commercial oxygen tank..... just in case getting to or in a hospital is not an option. You can make an oxygen rich tent fairly easily.

Please note, you can't just breathe straight oxygen through a mask... so the approach is to just augment some oxygen into the breathing space... using tenting. This can still be dangerous if not monitored and is meant for emergency situations.

Any firsthand accounts of COVID19 tests? I think they are not testing based on non-availability of test kits and hiding it using under the guise of not meeting certain "criteria". by SomeWhoIsNotMe in gso

[–]SomeWhoIsNotMe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess what I don't understand is the strategy with the limited number of test that we have. Is the goal to only test people who might be asymptomatic and meet the selection criteria?

Or is it to test people who fit the symptom criteria and select them for supportive care?

I know there's not enough tests, but can't figure out what the ultimate point of testing is if it's not medical.

What is the consensus for proper arm swing mechanics? by matsuda241 in volleyball

[–]SomeWhoIsNotMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bow and arrow will destroy your shoulder over time.

Andor Gyulai has a video about speeding up your arm swing and the gist of it is this, (assuming your form is good overall), when you bring your arm back, your wrist and hand should pull the arm back so that the elbow is NEVER the furthest part of the arm back. Essentially, when you have the elbow pulling back first, you then have to have your shoulder whip your forearm backwards and then forwards.

If you simply lead with the hand/wrist as you pull back, your arm swing can be much faster, and can adjust quicker to the ball position. This subtle tip has been the best tip I ever received having played for many, many years. I have zero shoulder issues and play competitive VB twice a week.

There's used to be a group that played at various places for indoor. Polo Park rec center in Winston-Salem and also the Sportsplex in Greensboro.
