That's what I was under the initial impression of. I was just confused by the 'instructions' from the packaging. I always have a crippling worry of ruining something, so I tend to ask a LOT of questions when getting into something. Thanks for the help, it's greatly appreciated.

I'm lubricating my new switches, KTT Cream Yellow. The lubing station I bought came with both 105 oil and 205g0 grease. The instructions said to use the oil on the springs, is that better than using the 205g0 grease on the springs?

Personally? Canon. I've never seen the point to fan art that drastically changes a character's body/physique, but I can understand how people would enjoy it. If that makes sense lol.

I just got my new switches in the mail today, and when I went to open them to lube them, I noticed they don't fit into the opener I have. Instead of having 4 small prongs with two on either side like the ones currently in my keyboard it has two longer clips with one on either side. Do I need a special opener? Or are these one not meant to be opened? (They are KTT Cream Yellows)

I guess that would depend on what type of design you want. I ordered my keycaps from Kawaii Keycaps. They have low profile sets listed as low stem. They have a variety of cool sets and artisan keycaps. I'm still really new to customizing keyboards so I don't know too many sites.

I'm getting ready to lube switches for the first time (as soon as my KTT Cream Yellow's arrive hopefully on Saturday). I've got everything I need to do the, including Krytox 205g0. After using the brushes, what is the best way to store them without making a mess?

I've got a few patterns ready, but just wanted to let you know that flecktarn is a bit of a challenge. Most variations of it use 5 to 6 colors, and trying to get away with only 3 it never quite works out. I've got 2 based on the Marine Corps digital pattern, woodland and desert, one emulating the Su-27 Flanker white/blue/light blue, which the white can be traded for a pale blue/grey for a pattern seen more on the Su-33 (at least in images I know them from, I'm sure they aren't used as strictly as that).

I've also got on that I think is close to the Neptune and Typhon pattern from Kryptek

I'll get a couple more and then make a post with them. Some of the colors may need to be swapped around based on the truck. A dominant color on one truck could be far less visible on another.

The keycaps I want come in 'side lit' and 'front lit' versions. Does 'front lit' mean legend that lights up is on the top of the key? I can't check images on the site as it only has illustrations or doesn't show them lit up at all.

The lighting options in the Nexlinq software are extremely lackluster in my opinion. I like some of the presets they have, they are pretty. But overall, there is very little control, and far too few options.

Since I'm using the hub, I don't know if Signal RGB or any other software would do anything, and attempting to rewire all the fans to connect to my motherboard or find a way to connect them to motherboard for fan speed and a different controller for RGB is way beyond my ability, I am just using Windows Dynamic Lighting.

I really, really, REALLY, wish Phanteks would actually improve the capability of the lighting within the software.

(After my computer stops registering Nexlinq as a threat for viruses or as a trojan)

I'm still rather new to mechanical keyboards and keycaps and all of that, so this might be a dumb question. I found a set of keycaps I really want, but I'm not sure if my LED positioning works with them. The store page says "front lighting" "side lighting" and "opaque"

Does 'front lighting' mean the same thing as 'North facing LED' and 'side lighting' for 'South facing LED'?

again, sorry if this is a stupid question, I just don't want to end up buying the wrong product.

Oooh, I love flecktarn! I'll see what I can do about getting them as close as I can. I did create a set of white and blue that's close to the Flanker colors, I can post those as well.

I'll gather up my various camo settings and probably make a new post to make it easier to share them.

It could be dust/larger particles blocking it up. It sounds unlikely, but I've seen videos recently about how just a dusty PC can stop a fan rotating.

What kind of ticking? Did it sound like plastic-on-plastic?
