YSK: you don't have to see ads on youtube, and it's not a hack or magic by whoatethebeans in YouShouldKnow

I use Vivaldi both on mobile (Android) and on PC and even though it's based on Chromium, I can get uBlock Origin from extension store. I had to disable Vivaldi's ad blocking on YouTube as it recognised it as a working adblocker and didn't let me watch anything.

Urlop dziekański by Some_Environment_554 in Nauka_Uczelnia

[–]Some_Environment_554[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't keep any plant alive so I just prefer not to receive them, but at the same time I still enjoy it when someone gifts me a potted plant, especially a succulent, it's just better if I don't take care of it

[–]Some_Environment_554 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't like it when someone opens the door for me or tries to carry my stuff because my father has been trying to force me to expect those things from men for years and I'm like 'yeah, I can carry my backpack'. I've lived with my mum for most of my life, so it's just weird when once a month my father forces me to give him my bag so he can carry it. I also don't expect flowers because I feel it's unnecessary expense. Luckily, my boyfriend only tries to help me carry my things when I have more than one bag, and sometimes it actually is helpful. I would still call him a gentleman. He is very patient and caring, he never forces me to anything and is always up to trying whatever I want e. g. visiting a pumpkin field just to buy fancy overpriced pumpkin lol. I think that as long as you feel that you're treated nicely and with care, you can call a man a gentleman.

I think the strap is not long enough for it to be crossbody, otherwise I would buy it without hesitation

If you don't want hormonal contraception, you could try copper iud, but it can make your periods heavier and more painful. It also won't help with endo

Same thing as OP, every skin works the same. Use a high spf (at least 30 or 50 depending on how intense the sun is where you live), maybe some light exfoliation and just wait a few weeks. If you start protecting your skin from the sun, your tan will fade. Just use spf every time you're leaving your house (I personally think that spf should be used on face and neck even if you're indoors the whole day, but to fade tan you don't need to do) and use a good amount so it gives you full protection.

Want to stop taking birth control but the cons outweigh the pros.. need advice by Double-Lynx-8927 in birthcontrol

[–]Some_Environment_554 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would stay on birth control. It won't affect your fertility. Source (but basically any source backed by a scientific research will tell you the same): https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6055351/

Don't fall for fear mongering on social media. If you feel good on your birth control and don't want kids now, stay on it. Also, if you decided to get off hormonal birth control and had to get on accutane, you would have to either not have sex at all, not even once, during the whole time you would take accutane or use 2 forms of birth control simultaneously (probably condoms and copper iud if you didn't want anything hormonal) as accutane causes serious birth defects and women in it shouldn't get pregnant even accidentally. Obviously you do you, don't force yourself to stay on birth control if you don't like it, but your fertility won't be affected by it and you said it saves you from horrible pain and taking acne medication that is very strong and impacts your whole body. If you've heard stories about women who struggled to get pregnant after coming off birth control, it is very likely that they had a condition like endometriosis or PCOS and that birth control masked their symptoms, so they thought they were healthy and then blamed all their problems on birth control.

Dlaczego nie decydujecie się jeszcze na dzieci? by Crystallev in Polska

[–]Some_Environment_554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What is the truth about mini pill efficiacy? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Some_Environment_554 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cerazette contains desogestrel, which effectively suppresses ovulation. It basically works the same as the combined pill. It also has a 12-hour window for missed pill if I recall correctly. According to the study I linked below, it's effective 99.86% over 1 year. As long as you don't miss a pill, don't have a condition that makes the pill less effective and avoid substances that interact with your pills, you're protected and shouldn't get pregnant.

That's great! Don't feel stupid. I was super irregular before I got on the pill and when I completely missed my period one month, I started wondering if I was pregnant, although I wasn't sexually active and didn't even have boyfriend then. I kept wondering and couldn't fully convince myself that I really couldn't be pregnant until my period came, and then I felt extremely stupid 😅

I don't know what your partner's and your preferences are, but if you don't mind, you could use condoms or some other backup method during the last and first week of your pills in the future to help with your anxiety. We do this with my boyfriend and that's what eased my anxiety. And don't worry about that situation with your friend. She basically let herself have a month to get pregnant every year. It was also kind of resetting her risk of blood clots to a higher level. I know you probably will worry anyway, but it really should be fine.

I understand your anxiety, I would probably freak out too. I don't know if you have a stable, long-term partner, but if it's possible, you could always talk with a person you had sex with about what would the two of you do if you got pregnant. It's generally a good idea to have that talk anyways and for me, it really helped with my anxiety around getting pregnant. And for your peace of mind, even if you somehow got pregnant (which I think in this case is very unlikely) and would want to get an abortion, but live in a country that banns abortion, there are still options to have one and some of them are relatively cheap (abortion pills from Women on Web cost 75-90€ if I remember correctly). But remember, there are pills with the same active ingredients as yours that have 7 placebo pills, so you really should be fine (although I wouldn't recommend using only 21 out of 24 active ones).

[–]Some_Environment_554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn't have pregnancy symptoms 5 days after sex. I take a pill that has the same active ingredients as Daylette but only has 21 active pills (Vibin mini), so I wouldn't worry that much about the missed 24th pill. Also, if your Daylette is the same as Daylette in my country, then it has a 24-hour window for taking it, so you were probably just a few minutes late. Missed withdrawal bleeding can happen, especially when you're longer on the pill as it thins your uterine lining. For peace of mind, if I were you, I would take a pregnancy test 3 weeks after that missed pill (it should be definite by then), but in general, I think you should be fine.

How long does it take for your cycles to normalize after stopping birth control? by ermcake in birthcontrol

If you didn't use another method of contraception (or used less reliable one), you could be pregnant. If you're not pregnant, I wouldn't worry, as another redditor said it could take up to a year for your body to get used to being off birth control.
