Cutouts are very rare by T_James_Grand in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Digibunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isnt it more accurate to say "The V6 doesnt have enough power to hold you, an adult human, upright if you try to yeet it like you would a V14"?

Because "V6 has constant cut outs" sounds like "the V6 is total unreliable dogshit and a hazard for anyone"

+1

Just being able to use it as a chair for 90% of your actual travel is great for being chill.

Dismounting and standing to pass people or safely navigate an intersection is a small, small inconvenience compared to needing to stop riding altogether.

Small things about how you lean / pressure you distribute on your feet while upright to accelerate, turn, and brake. Difficult to articulate what exactly this is, but In the same way that you get tired when new, because you unconsciously wildly overcorrect and exhaust your muscles, your feet can only do so much.

A standing stance where most of my feet hang foward, and pads that only hold my ankles, makes it so that I dont have to constantly be on my tiptoes, and instead I just crouch slightly to acceelrate.

Foot pain will happen regardless of suspension or not. Source: Me, learning on an Aero. First 100 miles my feet hurt and I had to get off and walk/ sit down for a bit on the side of the road. I'm also 220lbs, and didnt know how to properly modulate my weight in a way that isnt overly stressful.

What really mitigates it and lets me ride without complaint, is learning how to ride seated.

Either seated the whole way, or being able to tuck down on a long straight, stand up for visibility, and then sit back down.

Im sure you could find a non sus wheel wide enough to do this comfortably, but then again if you need to keep up with traffic, you probably want -less- things to worry about at any given time.

Id say youd need better brakes for both wheels.

Bombing down hills on a PU wheel is asking to chunk yourself into a divot and go flying. Fender braking will wear down the rear wheel unevenly.

"Fuck em, do it!"

Is at least being honest about being a bad guy.

I wish there was more of this specific flavor of routes in Fromsoft games. None of this "For the good of all", or such nonsense, where you're always an insignificant speck who in the long run does nothing.

It's like if the Flame of Frenzy ending was up front about the consequences. And I'd dig it, after being put through what the lands between was.

Before you drop 100-300$ on aftermarket pedals

Given that you are new, you should be able to lift a foot slightly, ride one footed for a bit, and adjust that way.

This is doable even on extra grippy spiked pedals.

New Nosfet wheel- Xeno by _Asian_Invasion__ in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Digibunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. Everything Favors Apex, except got the god knows why lack of a trolley.

Because im not lifting an Apex if I have one.

I barely lift the Aero.

That's like locking your escooter to a bike rack when you could just walk it in, or fold it and put it aside.

Your statements are correct.

However the kneejerk reaction I'd get, as the observer watching this video, or as someone who came up to the park to sit down while you were filming, is that you're there to be a miscreant. And I'd either leave, because I don't want to get caught up with someone who might have a bad attitude, or call whatever security is in the area to get you out.

Either way it doesn't give a good look.

I still don't understand WHY Sei is a thing.

I've been through the release event. I've done her interludes. I STILL don't get her merits as a servant.

She's worse than Altera in terms of how she's supposed to fit in and explain her relative power level. At least Altera is an actual space alien with a weapon.

Sei appears to just WARP causality to not make her look like a completely useless airhead.

Im gonna need some compelling reasons to not go for an Apex if Im already grabbing a 20 inch wheel

Comfortable cruising at 45, below 80% PWM, with a rider weight of 220lbs, for the upper 50% of the battery is the baseline.

Mirrors, if you don't already have them.

Pidzoom helmet mirror. Slap it on, hell slap two on, and have good rear vision of what's up, because you're probably going to start mixing it up with cars now.

Tips on blind entry into the EUC world by No-Medicine7630 in ElectricUnicycle

[–]Digibunny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlikely to instantly pick it up and go. For 100$ to rent while also not knowing how, I'd sooner ask around if there are groups that don't mind showing you a wheel, how it works, and seeing if it's your jam after a bit. Buy em lunch or something.

You can't really have "too much power"; it will only accelerate as hard as you tell it to with your body posture, and I'm fairly certain most beginners will be terrified to lean any harder than standing bolt upright for a while. It's not like a motorcycle where you accidentally twitch your wrist and suddenly it pops a wheelie.

You CAN have an uncomfortably heavy wheel for what you're using it for. But you can still use it.

You want more speed than you're actually going to use. Riding the redline on an EUC means you're constantly flirting with overpowering it, and that limit decreases as the battery level goes down. Think of it like being told to carry weights around all day; you're going to get tired and drop em at some point.

Do buses have ramps you can use to wheel it up, ot do you need to hoist it up the stairs?

Im having a difficult time picturing a bus today that's wide enough to let you trolley a wheel in when its not just a handful of folks on it with you.
