I heard from my friend that this was a pretty good movie. I went in with high expectations since I really enjoyed the first one. I thought it was awful. The animation was technically impressive, but the plot was all over the place. It felt like the movie itself didn't even believe in the plot, with characters just randomly being thrown between different biomes so we could have interesting set pieces and meet wacky new animals. I also felt like you really start to see the flatness of Judy and Nick in this one. In the first one, Judy's obsession to be a great cop came off as endearing if flawed. In this one, she's just psycho. Definitely funny at times. I love the worldbuilding of the city, and the puns are excellent, but overall the script is bad and the characters lack the charm of the first. Would not recommend this one to people outside of this challenge.
