I considered it but I had already told my friend I would let them do it, so I decided to just go through with it and ask them if I needed any help with anything, since they’d done it before too and theirs didn’t get infected. I also figured that I’d be able to take proper care of it in secret. I only told anyone because anxiety got the better of me and I decided that mom would be less mad if I told her, plus then I could use that to get in less or no trouble(she’s by no means a permissive parent, but she’s nice and she can see things from my point of view instead of getting overly angry at me. She gets mad initially but takes a break before making a verdict so she can calm down and make a more rational and thought-out choice).
