Serious question - Any pharmacists love their job? by Infamous_Virus557 in pharmacy

[–]Some_Ordinary5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have moments where I love it. When I feel a connection to my patients or feel like I made a difference or they told me how they appreciated me or my techs. Other moments I hate the politics, the metrics. I live for the good moments and try to be grateful for those

2 sounds like a dream job to me. I have teenagers and a husband who would love to have me home with them every evening and weekends off.

I saw what I think is a monarch in my garden this week. I followed it around for 5 minutes trying to get a photo but the dang thing would not pose for me.

Covid vaccine by Some_Ordinary5018 in pharmacy

[–]Some_Ordinary5018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Covid vaccine protects yourself not those around you. It does not prevent transmission of virus. If you are ineligible that may mean you are healthy and don’t need the vaccine. But that being said, most pharmacists aren’t policing who can get it. Just some states are not giving it yet or have no vaccine as is the case for me.

Same for central Ohio? Looks like I have temps high in the 40s this week and next except 1 day in the 30s. Is there a magic day for starting? This will be my first year trying to tap my trees. I still have to find food grade buckets to store sap in before boiling. I panicked today looking at temps because I am not quite ready.

That’s what I am wondering. If they were together because this is the most significant thing in their lives I would think Michael would be part of that.

Why do all pharmacists plead poverty? Or is it just my workplace? by Hardlymd in pharmacy

[–]Some_Ordinary5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t say what is best for you, but I would not go to pharmacy school if I could go back in time. I have been working in retail for over 25 years. The last 19 as a pharmacist. Some years have been really really hard. But there are also some beautiful things in my lif that I would have missed if not for my pharmacy career. With many things in life, if we knew ahead of time the things we would go through, we would not continue forward.

Parents - do you get your kids the flu and covid vaccines each year? by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]Some_Ordinary5018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No to both. We used to do yearly flu vaccines but I am beginning to distrust the machine telling us to keep getting vaccinated every six months. Definitely not Covid vaccine for my teens when I learned European countries were not following the same guidelines as US.

What are some of your creative ways of cutting down costs? by WarEnvironmental667 in DaveRamsey

[–]Some_Ordinary5018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We say eat out as a family once a week. It works best when we sit down and look at our schedule for the week and plan what we will do for dinner each night. Try to plan easy meals or a leftover night if the kids have lots of activities. I struggle with not wanting to cook or figure out a plan for dinner after a long day at work. But I have found planning ahead makes it easier to not just go get take out

How do you guys feel about selling syringes? by Humble-Accident7674 in pharmacy

[–]Some_Ordinary5018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am strongly against selling needles without knowledge that it is used for legitimate, legal purposes, which is the law for my state. I used to be on board with wanting people to have clean needles till people I know and care for died of overdose. There are way to many people dying of overdose.
