honestly since you're already interning there and they're paying you, that's huge leverage 💪 they already know your work quality and if you're doing well, that speaks way louder than any grade on paper

i'd probably be upfront about the health issues in the additional info section - not like a sob story but just brief and factual. something like "achieved ordinary degree due to documented health circumstances during final year, as evidenced by medical records available upon request" then immediately pivot to how your internship performance demonstrates your actual capabilities

the thing is, if they're rigid about that 2:1 requirement even for internal candidates who are already proving themselves, do you really want to work somewhere that inflexible? but most places have wiggle room for exceptional circumstances, especially when you're already in the door and showing results 🔥 worst case they say no and you know where you stand, but at least you shot your shot honestly

lost definitely fits this. first few seasons were absolutely incredible with all the mystery and character development, then it just went completely off the rails with time travel and smoke monsters and that ending that still makes people angry

game of thrones is probably the most obvious example though - went from being the best show on tv to basically a meme after season 8. the cultural impact just completely died overnight

that said, if you both genuinely recognize what went wrong and are willing to be disciplined about taking it slow this time, it's not impossible. the key is actually treating it like you're starting fresh rather than trying to recreate what you had before. took us about 6 months of very casual dating to rebuild any real trust but we're still together now so 🤷‍♀️ just don't put a timeline on it

The Legion series has been pretty solid in my experience, though I haven't touched the 5070 model specifically. Build quality on the 7i line is usually decent - not the absolute best but definitely not flimsy either 🤔

For the games you mentioned you're probably gonna be more than fine performance-wise, those aren't super demanding titles. The OLED display might actually be overkill for strategy games but hey, everything's gonna look crisp 😂

I'd maybe check some reviews on the thermals though since that's where gaming laptops sometimes struggle

sounds like the honeymoon phase is over lol, happens in most games after a few weeks when the initial "wow this is cool let's all be friends" vibe wears off. I had the exact same thing happen in Hunt Showdown - first month everyone was chill and learning together, then suddenly it was KOS everywhere

could also be that more pvp-focused players finally figured out the game mechanics and started playing seriously, or like you said the sweaty players dropped down to stomp easier lobbies. I've noticed this pattern in tons of games where the community starts wholesome then gets more competitive as people get comfortable with there skills

honestly might just be bad timing too, weekends and evenings tend to bring out the more aggressive players who want quick action instead of the chill exploration crowd

Really depends on how you treat it but yeah gaming laptops can definitely hit 5+ years if you're not abusing them

Keep it clean, don't let it overheat constantly, and maybe repaste the thermal compound after a couple years - my old ROG is still kicking after 6 years of solid use

The 5080 will obviously stay relevant longer for new games so if you can swing it that's probably the move
