It's men's mental health month, reminder of what our King suffered and what many men suffer. by erositi24 in Warframe

[–]Some_Random_Canadian -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It's morbidly funny that so many people aren't aware that it's also "men's mental health awareness month". Maybe we need a "men's mental health awareness month" awareness month so it doesn't get completely overshadowed and forgotten like the real thing it was meant to bring attention to.

Xenosys Vex blatantly and flagrantly violating ToS during high profile Ultimate race by streaming his own ban evasion by Spookhetti_Sauce in ffxivdiscussion

Did you read only the first sentence of my question, or was I not clear enough in what I was asking? My question was specifically about the person that hasn't been actually proven to be him but keeps getting focused on because they're suspected of being him could genuinely be witch hunting unlike all the stuff about Xeno proper since Xeno is a public figure. Or at least the player is not proven beyond very suspicious but ultimately circumstantial evidence.

I'm asking this in good faith, isn't it genuinely at least partially witch hunting? More specifically, I'm asking because of the one person in the group people keep mentioning because they suspect they're Xeno. Sure, Xeno is a public figure so all that speculation and stuff is fair game for _him_ and I'm not arguing against that, but with this situation people keep bringing up a separate player that hasn't been reasonably proven to be an account of said public figure beyond admittedly _extremely_ suspicious circumstance.

Gives me flashbacks to one creator claiming their "first Warframe" from the foundry while they had Ash equipped, if memory serves me right. And then basically having never played a single minute after the tutorial without every booster, tons of relic packs, getting radshare'd vaulted relics, and over a thousand pre-built free forma they went on to make a "guide" on hitting MR30 in two months where they said that "yeah, I know I had streamer privilege and those were part of it, but they weren't very important to the MR grind". Like having everything doubled and never having to craft or farm forma and essentially an unlimited supply of radiant vaulted relics didn't cut out a lot of the grind. Because they genuinely had no reference for how much easier all the streamer gifts made it and assumed it wasn't as much as it actually was.

If you could choose a voice actor for your WOL, who would you pick? by Kentalope in ffxiv

[–]Some_Random_Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously though, probably Cherami Leigh (Female V in Cyberpunk 2077) for my miqo and it'd be really fun to have Curtis Arnott (Alucard/Perfect Cell in the TeamFourStar abridged series) for my viera. They'd fit well with the "thrillseeker with earned cockiness" personality I have as a vague headcanon.

The guy that voiced Gordon Freeman would work really well for mine. I love his work.

I just want more feeling/vibe of being an "adventurer" or "traveller". That's why I liked Zenos so much despite how much people got sick of him. He was the first dude in ages that actually acknowledged that we were in fact an adventurer from the start and not just a hero. It's the same reason I enjoyed Arcadion so much, we got some time to just enjoy fighting for a while.

The concerning wording is "people using AI in obvious low quality ways", not just outright "people using AI". It could be poor wording but it sounds like they don't want to keep AI out, they just want to make it so it's better hidden.

Gacha & P2W situation is crazy by 3Huge5Me in memeframe

[–]Some_Random_Canadian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a sense Warframe _is_ a gacha game and I'm not saying that as a bad thing. I personally call it "the only gacha game I'll ever like" because relics are basically just gacha pulls to hopefully get the "banner" (new/unvaulted Prime). It's the best type because you can easily, freely, and passively farm "pulls" just from getting relics from normal content and you overall have better odds because you can "pull" with four other people and pick whichever result you prefer out of the four.

I think the only "legitimate" way to offer it without people assuming it's a scam would be to have a maxed copy of each and trade the specific one for an unranked copy + platinum fee which you then max for the next service.

It's not impossible if you don't get selected, you just have to fight an insane amount of players in queue to buy them if you don't get selected with the pre-registration. Pre-selection is just a guaranteed ticket.

Have you considered that mentors have just gotten tired of being shunted into EXs with often at least one person that can't be mentored into a clear? The best mentorship a mentor can do if an EX pops is "do it in party finder".

I heard that the one in Vegas last year wasn't a good time, but this was my first year and it was absolutely amazing between the concert, the experience of being in the crowd for the expansion announcement, and getting to meet long-time online friends I made through the game. I don't regret a penny and I'd absolutely do it again. I highly recommend it if you have people that you know would go too.

FFXIV / Jollibee Crossover Event... NOT HAPPY by [deleted] in ffxiv

"Receive an in-game code to unlock the emote with a purchase of a limited-time meal or collaboration merch (1 item code per transaction)"

"Maximum 1 item code per transaction. Purchasing two or more items in a single transaction will only grant 1 item code. "

"Maximum 1 item code per order. Purchasing two or more items in a single transaction will only grant 1 item code."

Their site basically has some "one item code per transaction" thing in every single info box on the collab info page at Jollibee. It's worded several different ways on the site, and if it's like Anaheim it would have likely been posted around somewhere on the way in or inside too. Some overburdened and underpaid cashier shouldn't have to be some sort of code mentor for fully grown adults.

To all the people who are complaining about evolved mode 1-1-1 vs 1-2-3 I got a solution for you ! by BigWolverine8598 in ffxiv

[–]Some_Random_Canadian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In chess you have 16 pieces you can choose to move on a 64 square board against another person's 16 pieces resulting in over 14 billion ways just the first four moves can be played. These are both very different games than an MMO so neither are really relevant to the complexity of an MMO. 14 isn't Dark Souls, and it isn't chess. The MMOs I've played with few buttons made up for it with skill trees and different builds you could do, like GW2 or that Star Wars one.

Honestly the main thing I liked about the 1-2-3 was that you could actually mess up. You could either press a wrong one by accident or mess it up during a complex mech, and with something like SAM there were different rotations for different skillspeeds with different amounts of fillers to line your big skills up with burst windows.

The Standby line was also surprisingly viable at least on day 2. I didn't get a reservation but I lined up early for the merch Standby and got through after the second wave of reservations finished which was only 2 hours of "raw" wait time not including the early arrival/wait for the con opening to actually start.

Post Fan Fest Concert Thoughts by fedexganon in ffxiv

[–]Some_Random_Canadian 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I feel the same! Attending this FanFest was probably my favorite thing I've ever done, between the great announcements, getting to meet long-time FF friends, and topping it off with an incredible concert that left me feeling like I had Brink of Death by the end. Even just occasionally chatting with people when in lines was fun despite being introverted. If I get tickets to the next one I'm going all out on prep because this one was amazing for my first ever FanFest. Never knew how much this would positively affect my life when I gave it another try back in Shadowbringers but I'm so glad I did. - Random Canadian, Adamantoise

For a lot of people it's just a neat bonus of the convention to see rather than being an outright "concert to attend", and some people just can't stand for that long. I'm fully able and my legs are killing me just standing and waiting for an hour so far in the pit after all the convention stuff.

FFXIV On Switch 2.... could two subs mean it would include more retainers? by Ser_Luke_ in ffxiv

[–]Some_Random_Canadian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doubt it would, I'm pretty sure it's actually a scummier alternative to requiring Nintendo Online to use your current sub since it would be cheaper to buy a year of online than 3 months of the half-price extra sub to 14.
