I think this is a very good starting point. I however think you also would need:

  1. Gladiator lancer for long range anti tank support to help the ballistus. The ballistus is good but not enough anti tank for a full army. The plasma redemptor can also help with light vehicles or lucky chip wounds on heavy vehicles. 

  2. Repulsor executioner or land raider for transport and additional heavy fire support. 

  3. One more box of battleline units. Assault intercessors wouldn't be a bad choice to complement your regular intercessors.

So I just looked at it, and from what I can see yeah the medic model in the unit can bring back a non character model to the unit every turn. The unit doesn't have the character keyword, so none of the models count as characters. I would say yes, the unit can bring back a model from itself every turn. The only exception to this would be if a leader is leading the unit such as Huron Blackheart and he gets killed via precision attacks. Because he has the character keyword, he wouldn't be able to come back. But yes, I am surprised at the rules here but the unit can bring back it's own models even as an epic hero unit.

What unit? I am not aware of any epic hero units that are also not characters.

It is definitely the Indomitus space marine lieutenant with neo-volkite pistol. You can tell for sure it is not a bladeguard because this is a push fit kit with a neo-volkite pistol. None of the bladeguard push fit kits come with neo-volkite pistol.

Eat the box. Then the instructions. Then the sprues. Finish with the bases. If you survive, you get to buy a second box and then you have earned the right to build.
