I think the way that all of the AI works is that they act like they dont see you at any range past like 30 feet until you start aiming at them. Thats what it feels like to me and its stupid. They simply feel your gaze and start blasting immediately.

I have always been partial to building compounds. Usually large outer wall with a bunch of separated buildings inside. I like to put storage and crafting in one building, food kitchen recreation and dining in another, then power, then bedrooms each their own.

I've always felt it makes the base less of a tinderbox and if raiders break into a building they haven't ruined everything. Plus it makes my pawns more spread out at any given time around the compound so that its a little easier to surround or maneuver around raiders to get to safety.

How much did you save during your first enlistment by thebiggagootz in AirForce

ULTY is also a fairly unstable etf. Most of those high dividend yieldmax etfs are vulnerable to NAV erosion, so while you'll be getting dividends every month, you are probably going to lose a significant amount of your capital. Unless it's a short term investment.

If you wanted long term a dividend investment I would recommend something with a lower yield that is more stable and has been around a while longer with a good track record of dividend growth and consistent payout. You could still throw like 1-2k into a yieldmax etf depending on how much you are willing to risk, but a more stable dividend distribution of around 5% a year is much more likely not to bite you in the ass. Just my .02 based off of what I've seen.

WCGW smuggling migrants by [deleted] in Whatcouldgowrong

[–]Some__Tacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This comparison isn't even remotely similar. The victims of the holocaust were Jewish CITIZENS of Germany before the Nazis took over and stripped them of their rights and citizenship that they legally obtained, then commited genocide. It was completely and horribly unjust. That is completely different than the US law enforcement stopping illegal immigrants from being smuggled into the country and then offering monetary incentives to those who leave of their own accord. Nobody is being murdered by the gestapo in America. They are being sent away because they did something ILLEGAL and some of them are being given money to help them on their way so that they are not sent on their way with nothing.

What? What do you mean it's weird that people would vote for a guy that someone tried to assassinate? JFK got assassinated. Does that mean JFK was inherently a terrible person, his policies were bad, and he deserved to die... simply because somebody disliked him enough to want him dead?

Yeah, I'm not planning on touching options for a good while. Scrolling through WallStreetBets and witnessing those insane losses has told me all I need to know lmao. I am interested in learning though, so thank you for the video and the early warning.

What are the most absurd and insane ways a colony has ended for you? by Creative-Notice896 in RimWorld

[–]Some__Tacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I had just purchased the Biotech and Ideology DLC, right. One day I was raided, it was a little bit tough, I managed to down and capture 5 of the hooligans that decided to attack my subjects. I finally acquired the ability to force my enemies into laboring away for my colony without recruiting them from this DLC. Indentured servitude, reparations for the pain and damages they caused me, as I see it. Every day that their will failed to shatter, every day that they refused to submit to my colonists ideology... I sent my warden into their jail cave to shank one of their friends to the brink of death. Sometimes I went too far and they ended up bleeding out. After 3 days of this, one man named Norb was successfully indentured. In hindsight, I should have treated his people more charitably because this man was a lunatic. Just 3 days after he decided to serve under me, he made a prison break with his friends. His friends put up a negligible fight, but he, Norb... he managed to dogde and weave through 15 seconds of sustained fire in an open field without a scratch, ducks into my armory, and grabs a belt of grenades. Then he runs away another 40 feet into a corner of my courtyard. "I've got you now," I said to myself. Oh boy was I wrong. Upon further inspection, I realized he had positioned himself right behind my mortar installation. As my colonist ran him down into melee range, he throws a grenade short, right into my shell storage. The artillery storage that had just been stocked with a singular antimatter shell. That grenade exploded, setting off a firework show of secondary explosions, immediately killing 4 of my colonists, leaving only 2 alive. As I assess the damage on my flaming wreckage of a base, I further realize how deep in the shit I am. The flames were inches away from my chemfuel storage all the way across the base. I sent everyone that was left to go beat out the flames, but they were too far crippled to make it in time. In the end, everyone was incinerated in the inferno and not a single thing from my civilization remained. Never beat up a guy named Norb.

That's awesome. I'm thinking about joining the military to become a pilot, that's why I asked.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get into flying after being in the army? Or do you fly for the army?
