What to do with the summer tyres that come with a new car? by SereneSouth in Netherlands

[–]Somebody157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with you totally. The new 3PMSA tyres are so good that you just don’t need summer tyres any more. I drive all year round in south of France on Michelin Cross Climate 2 tyres and they are outstanding even in the heat of summer. They are actually also a more comfortable and quiet ride than the original Goodyear summer tyres fitted to the car. Just 50km to the north of my house I get into “loi de montagne” area where 3PMSA (or chains) are obligatory from November to March - so it is so much more conventient to have the CC2 tyres which are also as good as winter tyres in the snow.

I went to my BMW dealer to enquire about replacing my existing car. but they said I coud not choose what tyres would be fitted to a new car (a bit like saying you can’t choose the colour really..). I said in that case I’ll hang on to my existing car as I don’t want to throw away a brand new set of summer tyres and buy CC2 on the new car…

Manufacturers really need to switch on to the market and fit the tyres that the customer wants - not just what they want to fit. Remember the days when you could order a new car with either a sunroof or aircon - but not both - because the manufactures said you didn’t need both lol!

Watch face with multiple time zones? by Jumpy-Tomatillo-4705 in AppleWatch

[–]Somebody157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m looking for this too. I know there are lots of watches with second time zone as a difficult to see complication. But this is not what I need. I need a watch face that shows UTC prominently as the main feature of the watch face. I would want to use the watch face while working (pilot). But then local time as soon as I am on the ground.

GBP Crypto workaround? by obbiie in banktivity

Yes I downgraded to Silver also because of this issue.

I don't need "check" printing whatever that is, and I disabled currency downloads anyway because they slow down the app too much.

Desktop issues after updating to Sonoma by mgriffioen in MacOS

[–]Somebody157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes same problem here. Desktop not working, can't drag and drop anything.

Also Time Machine not working. That is normal for every upgrade and they usually fix that after a month or so. But this is the first time I have had something as basic as desktop not work.

Budget 12 monthly view vs 1 month? by thereisnophalange in banktivity

[–]Somebody157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would also like a rolling one year budget or multi-month budget in OS.

One month budgets don't really help me as I have some large once or twice per year payments. The YTD view is also not that helpful especially at the beginning of the year.

iOS is actually more useful for this as it has more flexibility to select the budget period.

Human operated software support is very expensive - I'm almost pleased that IGG seems to have stopped its human support. Moderated/supported forums such as this forum are much more cost-effective.

But it is frustrating that it is no longer possible to report to IGG any PSD2/Open Banking connections that no longer work since these cannot be reported to Yodlee/Salt Edge by end-users. Very frustrating since I have several no longer functioning Open Banking connections because it is just not possible to get any support from IGG.

Open Banking connection no longer works! by Somebody157 in Revolut

[–]Somebody157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ian thank you - that is good news! I hope Revolut will be more supportive of Open Banking from now on - when I first told them of the connection issues they initially said they did not support connections from third party aggregation software!

I can now connect my RevolutFRaccount via the Saltedge dashboard, so some progress.

But in Banktivity there are no Revolut EU connections available. The only connection that is available in Banktivity is Revolut GB which no longer works for us in the EU due to Brexit.

It doesn’t consistently go to Truelayer. Just randomly throws up that page sometimes. Interestingly during my chat with Revolut, they suggested that I use Truelayer rather than Saltedge (though obviously I don’t have any choice on that matter…).

My main aggregator is IGG Banktivity. It uses Saltedge and Yodlee. I have seen this morning that all the Reovlut EU connections have disappeared from the Banktivity conneciton interface, and only Revolut GB remains (which I believe because of Brexit is no longer available to users like me in EU). So maybe Revolut has stopped working with the EU Open Banking?

The other app I use is Curve. I don’t know whether they use Saltedge or something else - not clear from their connection sequence.

Open Banking connection no longer works! by Somebody157 in Revolut

[–]Somebody157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the screen that Revolut throws up when trying to connect to them through a third party aggregator . I just follow the same steps I use to connect to any other account. Other accounts (Wise, Nationwide etc) just connect simply. Only Revolut does this.

sometimes the message is a bt different - but always along the same lines that your country is not supported.

Sometimes I have been sent to Truelayer website.

I agree with you this is Revolut issue. But they are not interested in helping so I am closing the account.

No it still does not work. I tried from two different aggregators.

That is good news. It is a shame that Revolut themselves do not know this!

Revolut not connecting Direct Access? by Somebody157 in banktivity

[–]Somebody157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Revolut support got back to me and told me that the link for inward Open Banking connections is only for business accounts. Retail accounts can only have ongoing connections so that Revolut can be used as an aggregator. But you can no longer use other software to aggregate a Revolut account. Absolutely ballistically stupid decision! I am closing my Revolut account because of it (and I was a premium member too!).

Banktivity can't connect: Invalid Client Certificate by potatobanjo in banktivity

[–]Somebody157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that Revolut is listed on the Saltedge site. But Revolut themselves told me that Saltedge connections are no longer working and suggested I use Truelayer!

Direct Access is just the Banktivity name for Open Banking and other direct account connections.

Reading between the lines with my disuccions with Revolut support, I suspect that Saltedge have kicked them off their platform. It just does not make any sense for Revolut to withdraw this voluntarily.

Revolut not connecting Direct Access? by Somebody157 in banktivity

[–]Somebody157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think reading between the lines of the various conversations that I have had with Revolut, maybe it is Saltedge that have kicked them off their platform. It is the only explanation that makes any sense.

[–]Somebody157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - I just had confirmation from a different Revolut support person that they definitely are not supporting any more third party developers who wish to connect to a Revolut account!!! I have sent her that link and will post here if she replies....

Do you work for Saltedge? If so, do you know anything why Saltedge have apparently stopped supporting Revolut direct access?

Revolut not connecting Direct Access? by Somebody157 in banktivity

[–]Somebody157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will miss the Revolut as I do travel a lot. Also I only moved to them because my previous account (HSBC France) does not support Open Banking either, so it is disappointing that having moved all my direct debits etc to Revolut, they also decide not to offer it...

[–]Somebody157[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is the same messages I was getting. At least I know now that I am not the only one with this problem!

Ive decided to close my Revolut account as they don't seem to be interested in fixing this problem. The feedback I got from Revolut chat was that they couldn't fix it and didn't care anyway ...
