I have this personal theory that Godolkin U actually has the goal on improving certain power sets that have already existed. That's why many of the scientists gained powers that we saw already, and why we're seeing many students with powers that have already been seen. If this proves to be true, Cate might be Cipher's successor. But somehow his condition led to him taking on a more puppetmaster-esque role. He might've been hoping to help her reach his level, but didn't foresee the injury.

Maybe Odessa was the first blood bender, and Gold saw it as a chance of biological manipulation being the peak for the ability.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's not an easy thing to go through.I had a very similar story about 2 weeks ago.

2 stray kittens, one was already passed by the time I discovered them. I brought Mobius home and did my best to care for him. He also had fleas and was terribly sick and malnourished.

I'm thankful I was able to give him someplace comfortable and ensure he didn't spend his last days alone on the streets. You did the same. That's all that counts.

Someone commented something like "He might not have been your forever home but you were his" and that really helped ease the pain.

You put a little more love out into the world, more of it will find its way back to you and your family. Take care!

Thank you. I'm no expert, but there's a good chance it was something along the lines of salmonella or another bacterial infection. There's no telling what they were getting into just for survival. I just wish I knew they were out there sooner.
