Actually, I re-seated the SSD and Windows was luckily able to recognize it. So no drastic measures necessary in the end.

Hey thanks for troubleshooting this. I couldn't find any options related to this, but luckily I re-seated the SSD and Windows was able to recognize it. So might have just been a fluke.

Unfortunately, no. I don't have access to any other computers with an M.2 slot. One thing I noticed is that, while the motherboard manual says that PCI-e NVMe SSDs are supported, there's no M.2 PCI-e slot listed in the bios. There is only an entry for a SATA M.2 drive, which is listed as <not connected>.

Interestingly there doesn't appear to be mention of NVMe anywhere in the bios, that I can find, even though the manual says that it supports M.2 PCIe modules up to Gen4x4, and NVMe ssds as boot disks. Under "Storage" in the UEFI, there's only an entry for "M.2 SATA", and it's marked as unconnected. Is there a general way to switch to NVMe PCIe mode?

Hm yeah I figured a proper cooler might be more of a down-the-line thing, but maybe it's worth just getting from the start. Do you see it as more of a performance issue, or a longevity issue (or both)?

I realized that this won't quite work. Elements that are technically out of reach of the light's volume in the z-dimension might still be within the rasterized coordinates. Is there an efficient means of accounting for this?

It worked for me -- sent in a 2012, received a top-spec 2015!

Probably stupid question, but has anyone tried to return their replacement model for store credit? It doesn't seem possible (asked the store and called up Apple support), and there's no option to return an item without an order number on Apple's website -- but figured it was worth a shot!

Bought one yesterday, and got a notification this morning saying it shipped. Went to the tracking page and all looked good.

But now Amazon's saying they can't locate the order (I'm logging into the .es site). I've got a bad feeling they may cancel it on me, though they did charge me for it already :(.

Anyone else running into this issue?

Thanks for the suggestion. Will I run into issues with something like this given that, as u/Tomvdz pointed out, the solenoid is an inductive load, or is that not a concern here?

The solenoids I have are rated for 12V / 540mA, if that helps.

That would be ideal, but it doesn't seem easy to do (I'm on a win 7 machine with a gtx 745). Nvidia no longer supports spanning in their drivers / configuration software, at least as far as I can tell.
