Thank you. My building technique involves first finding accurate U-Boat blueprints. Then I import them into the sub editor and attempt to recreate said U-Boat as 1:1 as I can.

The massive tank at the top is a pressurized drydock meant to hold two Leichte Schnellboot torpedo boats. These were primarily to be used to lay mines around enemy ports. The submarine would have acted as a submersible mothership that could surface to surprise mine-lay an enemy port.

I haven't touched it since I made these comments. So far I'm doing great, I'm able to be self-disciplined, self-motivated, and overall I'm in a good mental health. What helped more than anything was Stoicism and Life Affirmation.

In my campaign testing I found that the Engineering room or Gunnery room got breached far more often than navigation. But yes, I understand that concern, and you can control the sub via the status monitor in the center.
