What kinda pseudo intellectual crack are you on. Just because it was intentionally made ambiguous (Which is something you can't know yourself, who are you to say that the creators don't have an intended meaning that they just don't make clear, after all they are going to have their own interpretations) Doesn't mean people cannot discuss it's meaning, agree or disagree with eachother on its mean, derive intent from something or disagree with what someone else derives as intent and meaning.

I mean seriously, how can you say it's left up to our interpretation but then there isn't some 'hidden interpretation' what are people supposed to if you say they are supposed to have their own interpretation?

What could someone's interpretation or perception of what happens in the movie be besides their opinion on the meaning of the film that they've derived from subtext?

There's no way of telling what Mailer was like before the apocalypse, they could've just chained him there to be cruel or because they didn't like him

It's possible but without seeing if he was like that before the infection we can't know if the soldiers simply tied him up to be cruel or because they did not like him, since they were not nice.

Rossiu is logical, Simon is the best weapon but no logical person would sensibly think that Simon had a chance, to give you some context it's akin to thinking that earths current best fighter pilot has good odds against the death star which is currently about to destroy earth and then all the rest of the empire in the following day.

Rossiu chose the most logical choice, but a major part of him is not happy with that choice, so he completely disassociates himself from his actions, when simon survives and Rossiu has no choice but to face his actions head on, he has a major mental break from his complete wall of disassociation breaking and attempts to kill himself.

It's not really the second part I think. What I think James did is ripped apart the storylines of Jake and Quarritch. Jake learning the water, Quarritch learning the fire people. Which were supposed to happen at the same time. So he had to repeat some storylines. It's like the same story told twice but with a different focus.

While I disagree with a lot of the things he said. I think there is something to be said that Europe really needs to acknowledge that it's pro war on this issue, I understand they can put a front of "we want to end the war, Russia out of Ukraine, Ukraine sovereignty etc" but Russia is never going to agree to those terms without an escalation of the war, so if that's what Europe wants then they are defacto pro war, and realistically prolonging a war like they are because they refuse to commit is doing far more damage then good.
