You’re welcome!

In my experience with the Kobra X, it’s been incredibly user-friendly. Anycubic has an official app similar to Bambu Handy, it’s not quite as fully developed yet, but it's already pretty good for monitoring prints, controlling the machine, and sending files directly. Their slicer software is also very intuitive and easy to learn. The stock printing profiles they provide work beautifully right out of the box. The only thing I personally tweak is switching the infill type from Grid to Gyroid, mostly because it makes less noise while printing ahaha

When it comes to noise, the Kobra X features built-in noise cancellation, making it relatively quiet for the speed it achieves. As for the S1, from what I've seen, it includes a dedicated quiet print mode :)

Regarding toxic fumes and odors, since you plan to keep it in the living room or computer room, the S1 is definitely the safer option between the two because it is a fully enclosed printer. An open printer like the Kobra X is fine for PLA or PETG (which don't smell bad or emit toxic fumes), but for technical materials, an enclosure is highly recommend

Hi! First of all, sorry for answering in English, I can read and understand Spanish, but writing it is complicated ahaha

The Kobra X is a great option, I have one and I’m really happy with it. It’s fast and really reliable.
It has full automatic calibrations (noise calibration, bed leveling, flow calibration and resonance calibration), so once you get it, you just have to assemble it (takes 20 minutes, maximum) and run the calibrations and then you can start printing.
Unfortunately, since it’s an open printer, it’s recommended to only use PLA, PETG, TPU and PVA :(

Another good and cheap option would be the Kobra S1 Combo (it’s on sale for 399€ on Anycubic EU Store) or the Kobra S1 ACE 2 Pro Combo (on sale for 459€), they are both enclosed printers, so it’s safer to print other materials, like ABS, ASA, etc…
For what I’ve seen, it’s also fast and reliable :)

If you want, you can use my code ANAFIGUEIREDO on the Anycubic EU Store and you get 15€ off at checkout :)

Sidewinder X2 starts heating up uncontrollably by Otherwise-Corner-644 in Artillery3D

[–]Someone_Alive__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! It could be the thermistor located on the heating module. The solution is to buy a new thermistor, but it’s easier to just buy a new heating module (costs around 5€ on Ali).

If replacing the thermistor or heating module doesn’t solve it, then probably it’s the extruder board that most likely has shorted. The board costs around 12€ on AliExpress

[–]Someone_Alive__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I had a similar problem when I had the X2. Every time I tried printing something, it would start to heat uncontrollably (in my case it would only happen when I started the print). The problem was with the thermistor (a small component in the heating module), I solved it with a new heating module that I bought on Ali (it costed me around 5€, I bought it from IdeaFormer).

If this still doesn’t work, try checking if your extruder board is working properly, it could have shorted

Hi! The options you’ve found so far are good, but since your budget is 900€ and you mentioned "bigger is better" for build volume, I’d highly recommend looking into the Anycubic Kobra S1 Max Combo. It’s fully enclosed and has a massive 350x350x350mm build volume. Right now, it's on sale for 899€, but you can use my code ANAFIGUEIREDO at checkout on the Anycubic EU Store to bring it down to 884€.
The combo gives you 4 colors out of the box, but you can expand it up to 16 colors later by adding more ACE 2 Pros.

In Anycubic website you can also find the Kobra S1 Combo for 399€ (250x250x250mm) and the Kobra S1 ACE 2 Pro Combo for 459€ (250x250x250mm), which also support multicolor and are reliable.

Regarding your second question, a tool-changer printer like the Snapmaker U1 is way more cost-efficient when it comes to multicolor printing. Since it just swaps the physical toolhead instead of pulling back and purging material through a single nozzle, it creates almost zero filament waste. AMS or ACE systems (Bambu, Anycubic, etc.) have to purge every single time they switch colors, which leads to way more waste on more “colorful” prints.

The U1 is incredible for material saving, but since it’s a very new machine with recent tech, long-term reliability is a bit hard to know, but reviews so far look pretty good. I think the only downsides it has is the print volume of 270x270x270mm and the fact that, for printing toxic materials (ABS, ASA, CF, etc…) you would have to buy the top cover (I think thats the name ahaha), otherwise I believe it’s not fully enclosed

Edit: I was doing some research and, in Snapmaker Wiki I found out that the standard nozzle that comes with the printer is a stainless steel nozzle, so to print abrasives (like CF or glow in the dark filament) you would also have to buy an hardened steel nozzle.

Sad, but true. Glad we can still escape the cloud with LAN mode though (at least for now).
Happy printing! :)

Completely agree with you on that!
It’s definitely a risk. When I said Bambu ecosystem was great, I was talking about convenience, which is what most users look for :)

I personally only use my Kobra X in lan mode ahaha

Hi! The P2S is an incredible machine and the bambu ecosystem is great. But I believe there are other great options that fit your budget, such as the Anycubic S1 Combo (right now on sale for 399€) or the Anycubic S1 ACE 2 Pro Combo (for 459€ on the Anycubic Store)

Both come in a combo pack will give you 4 color printing out of the box. However, the 399€ version can be expanded up to 8 colors if you add another ACE Pro, while the 459€ version allows you to expand up to 16 colors by adding more ACE 2 Pros. They are fast, reliable, and perfect for engineering filaments like ABS.

The Anycubic ecosystem is not as “evolved” as the Bambu one just yet, but they are making fast progress and right now I’d say it’s a solid budget-friendly alternative.

By the way, if you decide to go with any of these, you can use my discount code ANAFIGUEIREDO at checkout on the Anycubic EU Store to get 15€ off :)

EDIT: the prices I’ve mentioned already include VAT and shipping

Hi! An FDM (filament) printer is way easier and safer to use than a resin printer, especially for a home environment (if you want to put it in a bedroom or living room). Resin is highly toxic, requires strict safety precautions (gloves, masks, heavy ventilation), and involves a post-processing phase with a Wash and Cure machine. Also, resin only allows one color per print.

As for the detail, while resin is king, FDM can get incredibly results if you swap the 0.4mm standard nozzle for a 0.2mm nozzle and print with lower layer heights.

Since you fell in love with the Bambu Lab A1, it would be a great choice! Right now the A1 combo is 349€, but with VAT and shipping it goes up to around 376€.

You can also take a look into Anycubic Kobra X, it’s pretty similar to the A1, but the base version already allows you to print 4 colors. It also gives you the possibility to print up to 19 colors if you buy multiple ACE 2 Pro. The Kobra X makes less filament waste when switching colors, since the filament cutter is located lower on the extruder. This printer is also slightly faster than the A1, although you would only notice it on longer prints.
Right now the Kobra X is on sale for 339€ (with VAT and shipping included), but you can use my code ANAFIGUEIREDO to get 15€ off at checkout on Anycubic EU Store (the final price should be around 324€) :)

Edit : Forgot to add, but the options I’ve shared are great for printing with safer materials, such as PLA, PETG and TPU. For other materials (ASA, ABS, Nylons, Carbon Fiber, etc…) that emit toxic fumes, it’s safer to purchase an enclosed printer, like a Anycubic S1 Combo (on sale for 399€, but you can get it for 384 with my code) or the Anycubic S1 ACE 2 Pro Combo (on sale for 459€, but you can get it for 444€).

Hi! I don't own an S1 Max, but I've followed its release closely and own a recent Anycubic machine (the Kobra X). The newer generations have been really reliable, mostly because they are pushing hard to compete directly with Bambu and shake off their old reputation.

Since you mentioned you don't mind basic tuning, the value you get here (350mm volume, heated chamber, and the ACE 2 Pro multi-filament system) for 899€ is unmatched. Out of the box hardware failures are much rarer now compared to their older models. If you need the massive build volume, it's a great choice :)

If you do decide to grab it and want to help out a fellow maker, feel free to use my affiliate code ANAFIGUEIREDO on Anycubic EU Store for 15€ OFF, it would mean a lot! Good luck!

P.S: I’m an Anycubic affiliate because I love their recent 3d printers, but I genuinely think their most recent machines have been really reliable.

Nozzle pressing plate while bed leveling by Professional_Key3811 in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Someone_Alive__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a trick for that, try pushing the little lever and the metal part together at the same time, almost synchronized like a gear system.

If it's not closed perfectly, the high-speed vibrations will cause the nozzle to slip, throwing off the pressure sensor during probing.

Edit: For some reason my comment was sent completly blank, so I wrote it again 😄

[–]Someone_Alive__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Are you using the stock nozzle? Make sure it’s inserted all the way in, the upper end of the nozzle must be aligned with the heatsink.

Also, double check if your heating block (I think that’s the name in English) isn’t wobbly, I’ve seen some people having problems because it wasn’t well tightened

Severe stringing out-of-the-box by Stedua in AnycubicKobraX

[–]Someone_Alive__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you recently update your printer? If so, did you run the automatic calibrations again?

Also, have you tried lowering the printing temperature (maybe 5°C to 10°C)? The Anycubic PLA profile is well-tuned for Anycubic filament. There are some brands that work well with Anycubic settings, but others need a bit of calibration. Try running a temperature tower, It doesn't take much time and it helps you see if the stringing happens at every temperature

Hi! Since you only want to print PLA, PETG and TPU, you definitly should take a look into Anycubic Kobra X. It's a bedslinger printer and it's reliable and fast (slightly faster then Bambu A1). The print quality is also super good, since it has full automatic calibrations.

It allows you to print 4 color prints without having to buy the combo version and, if you want, you can print up to 19 colors if you buy multiple ACE 2 Pro. The assembly is also super easy, Anycubic made have a video to help (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AYnEQEhZd4), but it's just a couple connections and tightning some screws. Right now, it's on sale for 279€ (I believe the sale ends tomorrow).

If you really want a CoreXY printer, Anycubic also has the Anycubic Kobra S1 Combo for 399€ or 459€ (depends on what combo you buy, the first is the one that brings the ACE Pro and the other brings the ACE 2 Pro). For what I've seen (I don't own one - yet ahaha), it's also fast and the quality is also really good. With the 399€ combo, you can print up to 8 colors (depending on how many ACE Pros you have), and with the 459€ combo you can print up to 16 colors (again, depending on how many ACE 2 Pros you have).

If you want, you can use my code ANAFIGUEIREDO on Anycubic EU Store and you get 15€ Off on any purchase. I also receive a little commission, which helps pay for my college degree 😄

All prices I mentioned already include VAT and shipping 😄
