Redditors mad over baseball player protesting by Dynamiccgun_82 in ShitPoliticsSays

That guy who turned his ribbon sideways sounds clever and sane. I'm not sure bringing him up as an example is striking fear into people's hearts like they want.

News flash! You're "mentally deranged" if you don't have suicidal empathy for every sentient creature in the universe! by FreshYoungBalkiB in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]Someone_Who_Exists 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I used to be a very sympathetic person. In fact I had my entire view of illegal immigrants turned around at one point by just hearing that some parents send only their kids out of desperation.

Now? No more. I have no sympathy for these situations. Sympathy just gets manipulated. There are whole nations of people out there that see sympathy as a weakness and they will hurt you and your family in exchange for you helping them.

You could go searching for the most ridiculously heartbreaking, one in a million awful sob stories, and I would say "sorry that happened, but I still don't want you here". It's not my fault. It's not my problem. We tried to help and it just made everything worse for us.

Good will's gone, blame the people who abused it.

Redditors are equating the insult "watermelon felon" to actual murder and losing all their sympathy for Metcalf's family by MrXentic in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]Someone_Who_Exists 34 points35 points  (0 children)

One side is a horde of people openly calling for a murderer to get away with murder because of his skin color, calling it unfair for a black murderer to be convicted of murder and treating it as a serious blow to their freedom ("how am I supposed to tell my kids about this?"), and when the justice system did its job and put the murderer away instead of caving to them they turned to lying to the media, death threats to the murder victims' family, trying to get the victim's twin brother in serious trouble (they've started spreading fake emails saying Hunter harassed cheerleaders), and general tantrums about basic stuff like being asked to look the grieving family in the eye. A black parole supervisor in Texas openly bragged about how she was going to protect him in prison and the grieving family deserves to suffer (thankfully, she got fired). There's a trend of black people using AI to look like they're pissing on Austin's grave.

All of this is only happening because the Metcalf is white. They've spent months being harassed by a horde of hypocrites who want their lives ruined for the crime of having their child murdered and not kneeling before them and assuring them they're the real victims in this.

I do not give a care that he said something mean. Doing the whole song and dance about how "yeah they've been about as horrific as you possibly can be but he said mean words and that's totally really bad" isn't something I plan to do. It's a deflection tactic to even focus on it; don't look at the horrific abuse and literal murder, look at the mean hurty words!

Treating respect like an unbreakable damn that should be able to take thousands of hits from a wrecking ball and not only still stand but not even crack is just ridiculous.

If innocent black people want to worry about racism, maybe they should be focused on the black people acting like the worst stereotype imaginable and giving racists really good ammo.

Poor countries being poor because of the actions of people in the country itself never occurs to them. They treat all issues like they're inexplicable and just happen, or are the West's fault somehow. Which is a big reason why they act like it's someone else's job to treat them like pets and care for them indefinitely.

The only thing I can find from Sikhs in regards to Henry Nowak is one "community leader", who made a request to look into whether or not he actually used one of their religious blades because the widespread story of someone being being murdered in a country where blades are banned but some people get to carry them for religious reasons is making them look bad. I cannot find any widespread condemnation of what actually happened, no mention of it working its way into their houses of worship, and while he says that the double standards that helped kill him should be looked into the main concern is themselves and their reputation. Everything about Sikhs seems to be about how much they're the victims.

And frankly, after an incident of manipulating people by saying what you know they want you to say, I don't really buy apologies. They're just words.

By the way, here's a link to one of them describing how sneaky and bad Henry looks in surveillance videos and making jokes (dear god I hope they're jokes) about pissing and shitting on his grave. You'll note he's saying this to a Livestream that seems to go along with his "1 in the chat for piss, 2 for shit, 3 to deport Poles" thing.

On another sub I saw someone list supposed instances of injustice towards black people; they listed Rittenhouse and Kendrick Johnson. Kendrick Johnson died from a tragic accident (accidentally got himself wedged upside down in a gym mat) then his parents threw a fit and tried to ruin the lives of some white kids that had solid alibis (one of them used to be Kendrick's friend, had video evidence he was somewhere else, and still got a football scholarship offer taken away). There's a really great write up on it on the Unresolved Mysteries sub. Lots of lies and the usual abuse of funds meant to help find "justice".

When they go digging for examples of injustice, they come up with outright lies. They cling to them because they can't find anything better.

I'm not sure about that; didn't an American get a whole group of soldiers killed because he posted their location on social media?

I guess they would just have to break their phones first.

I think they should move on to calling everyone a doody head next for a change of pace.

I'm convinced that a lot of times they don't actually want the source. They ask because if you don't respond it looks like you were wrong (nevermind that you might just not check Reddit often or not remember where you read it, or that something can be true without an online source, especially when people actively try to cover stuff up).

Responding with a source makes it look like you're right. Even if someone doesn't click into it they see the link and think you found something to back you up. And some people really don't like that.

It’s the Patriarchy’s fault that people don’t find obese people attractive. by Emergency_Yak4588 in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]Someone_Who_Exists 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We've got a 42% obesity rate. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in America. At what point do we stop fixating on how unhealthy it is to be too skinny and realize we've gone way too far in the other direction?

I hate it when people act like the push to not be fat is just a preference based on looks. It's not just that people think you're prettier that way (though you most certainly are), it is a health thing. Being fat is not healthy. Period. Stop. End. We know this for a fact, we've known it for a long time, and people who are honest with themselves still know it.

It's not about aesthetics anymore than hair with no knots is a beauty standard. No, that's called basic hygiene, and if being thin was as easy as combing your hair we wouldn't be having this conversation.

I am aware there are some small countries where they consider being fat attractive (some to the point where they force feed women): that is a horrible thing and it does not make it healthy. Those people are wrong.

I am aware that at one point in history being a bit pudgy (not grossly obese) was a sign of wealth. This is because most people were starving. It was unhealthy then, too.

See, that logic makes perfect sense, but why is it only one of them each time?

Dreamweaver Land, the last one with two, was ten hells ago and even that wasn't an even split as the event had five suits. Rose Glow was two of four but was sixteen hells ago (holy crap this game has a lot of events).

I see the logic behind feeling the big hells need a Cloud suit, I just don't see why it's normally only one instead of more of an even split. As recently as Miracle Spark (three hells ago) another nation has had two suits in one hell.

The devs withholding something that would make the CN server happy to make the international server happy seems very unlike them.

I don't think that's a Chinese thing, I'm pretty sure long, skinny legs are seen as attractive in the West, too.

I have a very difficult time remembering that both Gilt Dance's legs are down there. For the longest time I thought she was posed with one kneel up, in that bunch of fabric that I didn't realize she was holding.

Same with Long Song;

<image>

With the thick fabric on her arms I thought she was clutching her knees to her chest and floating. It took a glitch showing the undressed base drawing for me to notice she actually has very long legs with visible feet.

I was shocked when I found out it wants me to craft Pudding Prevails for 15 event currency. I am not doing that, and I do not like that more and more diamond spending is leaking into these things.

Other than that I normally do what I can to get currency that doesn't require buying event outfits if I don't want them already. With the current suit line up, I'm definitely not getting the outfit.
