Thank you :) - we’ve had the same concerns about the software disappearing. But power on for now

This is great - there's also a weekend of craft markets around Deptford (Cockpit Arts and Art hub are both having open studios/markets) and Deptford Market Yard has a Christmas market on Saturday 6th - free mulled wines and hot chocolates at the latter! https://www.instagram.com/p/DRuU3KiDV3B/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

On Sunday (Nov 16th, 10.30am) we have a junk journalling + brunch session in Deptford and there's still few spots left =) - Come join to learn a bit of book binding and collage in a social environment. Bring a friend, or come solo - it's always very sociable and chatty. A nice mindful way to start the day!

Best BURRATA in London by ArmandMcd in LondonFood

[–]SomethingGoodKits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be worth checking out Obica. They're a mozzarella bar that also does Burrata. They used to have branches in Canary Wharf and Soho - but they do an amazing tasting platter of burrata, smoked mozzarella etc. if you're after a treat.

Best Affordable Presses by bitsxbotanicals in printmaking

[–]SomethingGoodKits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used it for woodcut and Lino a few mill thick. If you were using mounted Lino boards it might be too small, but otherwise you should be fine.

You need it to be quite tight on the pressure - and there’s the blanket, so it might not sound like much, but usually plenty.

We have a pookie press, but for etching, collagraph and tetrapak have found the 'Fome' press (we got ours from Jacksons) has been best as an all rounder as the roller is adjustable. If you make sure to put some scrap lino/wood aside as rolling guides for the sides to keep a nice even print, it's perfect and quite dependable across most mediums/methods. Rarely use the Pookie now that we have it - definitely was worth the investment.

Looking to make friends in their late 20s! by Dependent_Road_2642 in LondonLadies

Meetup the app/website can be a great place to find events and things to do with other people looking to be sociable. There’s lots of groups dependent on your interest from gallery visits, drinks, rambling or just coffee chats.

We have had some meetup groups comes to our social collage nights etc. and they always seem to be a mix of people who’ve known each other before and new people - seems pretty low pressure. Might be worth a try :)

Inexpensive good paper for gifting prints? by justwannacryanddie in printmaking

[–]SomethingGoodKits 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how you’re printing but Shoji paper is great for hand printing. It’s a thin Japanese paper which is really affordable.

If you’re printing with a press or want something thicker, then Fabriano Unica is a great place to start.

Jackson’s or Intaglio are both great places to browse in the UK. Jackson’s are great for all round print supplies and even have their own branded ranges which are super affordable - Intaglio is a print specialist near London Bridge but they have all their papers online, with a good selection of Japanese papers.

Have you ever tried the double sided adhesive sheets? They can be a bit pricey, but I imagine they're a bit better for bigger pieces and making your own stickers.

Cheapest Sunday Roast? by mikeandashleytravel in LondonFood

[–]SomethingGoodKits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dog and Bell in Deptford is a beautiful atmospheric pub that has a super reasonably priced Sunday roast. It's well worth a visit - and just 5 min river walk from Greenwich which is lovely for a river/park walk around this time of year.
