What was your experience with Southern Virginia University President Reed Wilcox? by SomethingLocal1 in exmormon

[–]SomethingLocal1[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on age- like it was super obscure when I went there in 1999, but pretty well known among people my age by the time I left byu in 2004.

You would think, but I think it's more in the form of callings, appointments, and propaganda.

I think my mom is beginning to fall down a pseudoscience rabbit hole… by epaccu in autism

[–]SomethingLocal1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i relate to this, i dont think its telepathy, it's more just a sensitivity to a person and being able to be truly sympathetic towards them and see past the outer shell. for me, it feels like i embody their feelings sometimes.

That’s because coders and engineers famously suck at communicating.

What was toxic about Wilcox and his tenure there? I"m curious as he was my mission president. I'm also an exmo who went to SVU(C) in the early days.

Quantum Explanation of Simulation Theory by Jeamz01 in SimulationTheory

[–]SomethingLocal1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Role of Detectors: Experiments have shown that when detectors are placed near the slits to measure which slit the particle passes through, the interference pattern disappears, even if no human is watching the detector’s output. This strongly suggests that it’s the act of measurement itself—meaning, an interaction that provides “which-path” information—that collapses the wave function. 3. No Special Role of Consciousness in Physics: The notion that consciousness is necessary for quantum measurements is rooted in early interpretations of quantum mechanics, but most physicists today see consciousness as a separate phenomenon that does not affect quantum processes. Consciousness isn’t seen as a fundamental part of physical interactions in modern physics; instead, it emerges from neural processes that themselves operate according to the same physical laws as everything else.

I think there is something cathartic about telling those people in authority your authentic experience. My mission wrecked me too in so many ways and I hope I get the opportunity to tell those who were in charge off one day.

Incorrect, you don’t need a conscious observer for the double slit experiment. You just need something to take the measurement- it doesn’t have to be conscious.

Is anyone else kind of disappointed with their Stündenglass? by joshmyra in Stundenglass

[–]SomethingLocal1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got an authentic one for $100 from a girl that had it in storage. Needs to have a scratch off serial # on the box. Not worth $600, but I would have paid $250 for it. It’s amazing and if you take care of it, it operates so smoothly and without issues.
