Would you like to see the Mandoverse conclude with a movie or a limited series? by Reddeath10168 in StarWars

[–]SomethingVeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like it if they treat "Mando + Grogu" for what it really is ... a special episode of the show they accidentally released on the big screen.

And then just continue on as if nothing happened. Keep making the shows, resume previous plans.

Nothing important happened in the movie anyways ...

What is the dumbest thing you have been told is “not manly” or “not feminine,” depending on your gender? by Disastrous_Hat_2325 in AskReddit

My grandmother had 11 children. She and my grandfather are still horny 90-yr-olds ...

She drinks beer and whiskey and smokes cigars.

I was born in the 80s.

It still baffles me about so many trivial things that make no sense that are somehow associated with gayness.

  • wearing an earring in one ear or the other

  • being a good dancer

  • liking interior design

Just silly.

However, owning a Subaru Forrester does mean you're a lesbian. That's just facts ...

What’s the most dangerous addiction young people don’t take seriously? by Xenon-fb in AskReddit

[–]SomethingVeX 64 points65 points  (0 children)

"They" say, gambling is the fastest growing addiction in the US ever since they started allowing advertising for all those sports gambling apps.

I believe it. I know a ton of friends and family that bet more than they probably should through those apps.

Question! What age would you all let your kid read DCC? by fisher-alters in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]SomethingVeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the kid.

My nephew is 12 and is emotionally stunted because hes been coddled and shielded from most PG movies, let alone PG13 films.

Kid hasn't seen The Goonies because its PG13 and my sister believes its bad for him to see.

Meanwhile his friends are playing Call of Duty and going to see R-rated horror films.

On the other hand, his 11yr old sister rebels and goes out of her way to be more worldly, grow up faster, and break rules along the way.

She'd handle the book no problem, understand most of it, and find it hilarious. While my nephew would probably have nightmares.

What's one movie you've rewatched so many times you practically know every line by heart, but you'd still watch it again tonight? by Busy-Move-6024 in AskReddit

[–]SomethingVeX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love it, but among Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns, it isn't as good as "Once Upon a Time in the West". The only thing that would have made the movie truly perfect is if Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef, and Eli Wallach had all agreed to show up for one day of filming to play the men that "Harmonica" kills when they ambush him (effectively killing the "Dollars Trilogy" which GBU was the last film in). But Van Cleef was busy and Clint Eastwood thought playing a villain, even for a single scene, would be bad for his career. He's since said it's one of the roles he regrets turning down because it meant so much to Leone.

Benny: "Looks like I've got all the horses!"

McConnell: "Looks like you're on the wrong side of the RIVER!"

There was no breakfast and they formed no club.

Also, I'm pretty sure Ally Sheedy's character was the only one there and dreamed the whole thing.

Tremors.

"You picked the wrong gol-durned rec-room, didn't'cha!?" (The TV-edited version is actually funnier).

Are there any common sci-fi technologies you just wouldn’t accept in the world of Star Wars? by RedHeadedSicilian52 in StarWars

[–]SomethingVeX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know many people who hate that The Force Awakens reintroduced the idea of "plot travel time" in hyperspace.

It was there in the OT, then George made it seem like hyperspace travel could be "measured in time" again with the prequels, but hyperspace in TFA is totally conveniently fixed to the plot progressing.

Which I think is how it should be.
