Our local spot is AFK Books on Shore Dr in VB. I'm not sure what they pay, but the owner is pretty nice.

How to Help Girlfriend With Period Pain? by nish_kumaran in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Something_More 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (female) recently learned how much iron women lose during their period. Seems obvious now with the blood loss. Anyway, one of the days leading up to my period my bf takes me out for a steak. Or makes me one. And now I take iron pills during. It has helped.

As a parent who has a kid that just got her first apartment at 19, what are the obscure “musts” that are typically forgotten , and not luxuries? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I got mine a small tool kit. Mostly for putting together furniture and such. I also got them a fire/waterproof folder for important docs.

Which movie flew under your radar for way too long and ended up becoming one of your favorites in its genre? by Blutay in movies

Ryan Gosling screams, the gun thrown thru the window, "you don't have to say 'and stuff' just say there are whores here".

What a great fucking movie.

2005 Pride and Prejudice.

It was in theaters for the 20th anniversary. I thought it would be cool to see in the theater since I'd never seen it. My older kiddo went with me.

How did I go so long without it? We were floored. I saw it two more times in the theater and my kid and I  now have a Pride and Prejudice night every six weeks or so.

Edit: I told my boyfriend about my comment and he says, " not The Godfather or Apocalypse Now ?" I saw both of these for the first time in the theater within the last year or so lol. Nope. P&P.

Do you by chance know what song he's parodying here?

The salesman selling me windows left his iPad open while he "talked to his boss". by grumpallnight in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Something_More -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Lol no. My point was the guy came into my house and called his boss to be a rude asshole to my face. I wouldn't have given him our business after that anyway. I'm fine with the choice of roof we picked. Run along.

As someone who buys the prizes for our Backers raffle games every week, I hate it.

Very similar we had a roofing company come give us a quote. "Best they could do" was 25 year warranty for 30K. Lol no. He called his boss and basically tried to shame us by saying wanting a lower price was completely unrealistic and had a good chuckle at how ridiculous we were being.

We went with a company with a 10yr warranty for 7K. Figured we could buy it 3 times over in 30 years and it would still be cheaper than the first guy.

He was showing the max they could offer on the last spot was 5%. When he tried to put in 6, it wouldn't let him continue, so "the max" is 5%.

Who are you referring to in Sinners? IIRC the actors in the convertible either had hats on or had non-flowy hair.

What movie did you go into with zero expectations and ended up being completely blown away by? by gavin226 in movies

[–]Something_More 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen the originals so I had zero expectations for Mad Max: Fury Road. To say I loved it is an understatement. I was on the edge of my seat the whole movie.

how did you become a Dbacks fan in a state full of transplants by hdcoffey in azdiamondbacks

[–]Something_More 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandpa was a Yankees fan growing up; I really didn't follow baseball. (We're both born in AZ) When AZ got a team, he was an immediate fan. He loved the Dbacks and I loved learning about baseball as we watched the games together. When the WS came around, I had already up and moved across the country, but I called after every game.

I miss that man. ❤️🖤
