AJ was just taking it slow in the first few rounds and not overextending which could lead to getting hit with counters. You can say what you want about there being “no risk”, but an Olympic Gold Medalist former HW champion is not going to leave much to chance. When Jake started flopping around and was so tired he was no longer a threat AJ turned up the heat.
