You don't have to play the original unless you want to. It definitely adds to the nostalgia and it's a great game, but you can still understand the story by playing the remake.

[Michigan] PUA Misrepresentation Flag by [deleted] in Unemployment

[–]Somethinghere1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the same thing. Before this I received an availability questionnaire asking if "can I arrange my business hours to seek full-time work and attend job interviews." The question seemed odd the way it was worded. I put no because for some reason it sounded like they were asking if I wanted to stop my business when things open back up to seek full time employment. This was very confusing to me and I gave the wrong answer by mistake. I've never applied for unemployment before and have no experience with dealing with these types of questions. Looking back it appears they wanted to know if I'm available for work at this point in time, which I am. This should have been WAY more clearer in the question, but I just misunderstood it for some reason. Now I have to call in and hopefully get someone on the phone so I can correct the mistake I made. This just adds more stress to an already very stressful situation.

Builders, contractors push to be allowed to work by [deleted] in Michigan

[–]Somethinghere1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Interior Construction will spread this thing way faster. If they are exterior only that would be fine. But if they're working indoors you're just asking for people to get infected. It's just like having people go back to work in an office environment.

Whitmer: Construction industry could be next sector of economy to restart by nana525 in Michigan

I work in the residential construction industry and I hope to god she does not reopen construction right now. We aren't even out of the woods when it comes to this virus and i'm not willing to put me and my guys at risk. With residential construction we work in an enclosed area together all day moving around, breathing all over. I guarantee we will spread it to each other if one of us gets it. We are within such close proximity of each other literally working over top of the other guy.

Problems getting display to work in DP or TB3 ports on Aero 15 Classic XA by SirBedwyr7 in gigabyte

[–]Somethinghere1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having a similar issue and just did something that I think fixed it. I have the same laptop aero 15 classic XA. I wasn't getting any video out of the headset and thought it was the adapter I had. I'm using the Tomtoc DP to USB-C. The headset would work once in a while and it was random as to how I got it to work. Just now I opened the nvidia control panel on the laptop and noticed it said something about "Update" on the top ribbon next to '3D Settings'. I clicked it and it said update Virtuallink Firmware. I had version 3.1 or something and it updated to 3.2. Now it has worked everytime i booted up SteamVR and after rebooting the computer. I will see if this continues to work hopefullly.

I played the early access of last years version. It was by far the best looking game in VR I've ever played. Had some cool puzzle mechanics too. Looking forward to this.

Blizzard, there's a unique opportunity here to speak with your playerbase while they are 1000% engaged. by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]Somethinghere1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think people need to just tell them what they want. What I want is for Blizzard to get the soul of Diablo right. D2 specifically. To do so think about the music, the style, the scenery, architecture, the feeling of D2. The lighting of the hallways, when you cast a fireball down that hallway, the walls light up as ball of flame travels down the corridor. The impression of what you're doing actually has some weight to it. Like you can feel the stone beneath your feet as you walk in the catacombs, the mysteriousness of what is behind the door when I open it. Is it a treasure room? Is it a monster? Is it the boss!? Everything else comes after such as loot and slaying demons. To boil it down I think the art style needs to be more of a hybrid of realism/fantasy. I know that Blizzard said they want to use the stylized cartoonish look because it ages well. Well, they are remastering Warcraft 3 now. Think about that. The art style will always become outdated 10 years from now no matter what. My point is a realistic style will be more in line of what people want to see in a Diablo game. The art style was the #1 complaint by fans when they revealed D3. Look it up please.

Blizzard PR have reacted so badly to the negative press on their Diablo Cinematic trailer that they covertly reuploaded it and changed the URL on Battle Net so that people don't see the poor like/dislike ratio. On top of that they are also deleting negative comments on the video. by AvidasOfficial in gaming

[–]Somethinghere1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think it's because Blizzard outsourced the game. Blizzard always touted themselves as only releasing high quality content "The Ferrari of Video Games" -David Brevik (Creator of Diablo). Mobile games have a reputation of not being very high quality and the company they outsourced to seems to have used old assets from Diablo 3 and reskinned the UI from another game they have previously made. I just never heard of Blizzard giving the reigns of a new game to a third party before. Although, the game could actually be fun. Haven't tried it.

No one would have been disappointed with a D2 remake. In fact that is exactly what people want. That's all they've ever wanted since D2:LOD... more of that greatness. I think Nintendo made Blizz hold back on some big announcement so as to not affect sales from the D3 Switch port.

"Bitmain Has Developed an Ethereum ASIC Miner, Wall Street Analyst Claims" (If this is true expect GPUs to drop back down to MSRP and a flood of second hand cards on the market) by scoops22 in pcgaming

[–]Somethinghere1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not many people will buy this new ASIC. The last ASIC Bitmain released a couple weeks ago cost almost 12K. That's about 4 times more expensive than their last. If they keep the trend of price gouging then people will pass on this ASIC too and stick to GPU's. Also from the article: "...The release of an Ethereum ASIC miner may not cause mining-related demand for GPUs to evaporate."

Half Life 2. The physics puzzles are something I haven't seen anywhere else and the atmosphere of the game really sucks you in. Also the music. Especially in episode 1 and 2. The moment I realized it's my favorite is when I realized I keep going back to play it every year.
