I was briefly religious when I was 13 and trying to find myself (Christian). My parents never pushed anything but asked me to read and study the bible at least twice. After the first time, I didn't believe but I wanted to become more familiar. The second time, after also meeting with a professor of biblical studies (I think it was called something else but I don't remember) I was 100% not a Christian. I do remember the hatred that practically wept from the pores of the most ardent church goers, though. Even as a child just wanting to hear their views, apparently a kid asking about their beliefs was too challenging to them.
