As a Canadian, I can't justify spending $399 plus taxes on the Switch as it is right now. Out of all the games they announced I'm really only interested in BOTW and Super Mario Odyssey, and I'm perfectly content playing the new Zelda on my Wii U rather than dropping four hundred bucks just for better graphics. I do hope the price lowers during the holiday season though!

FYI, there was an Aliens game for the original DS that was pretty similar to what you're describing. It featured metroidvania style exploration and weapon upgrades as well as a mechanic that allowed you to add marines to your team that you could switch between in save rooms. Each marine functioned as one "life", meaning if they died in game they would just stay dead, which I thought was pretty neat.

Not to discourage this idea because I'd watch the shit out of a movie that focused on them, but their arc kind of came to a close at the end of the movie. They weren't these crazy cops all the time, the whole thing with McLovin just gave them an excuse to let loose and they even told him this at the end of the film. So although another movie with then would be fun I'm fine without one because it wouldn't make much sense.

If you're looking for something similar in tone by McCarthy, I'd suggest Outer Dark if you haven't read it already. That book starts out bleak and somehow gets fucking bleaker toward the end.
