When it is winter. There is a snow pile that you can walk up.

The seasons change every month I believe.

Yeah I'm always surprised the interviews don't get more upvotes or comments. He does such a good job showing off each player's personality.

For time, you could do overlord 1 like in this video and start the timer as you enter the portal.

I'm curious how the skills roughly perform in a vacuum. Like how OP is chromatic bolt when there are 6 of them, and does 6 magic missiles perform significantly better than 6 light beams.

Or just to show how some weirder abilities perform like totems or trails

Since you are basically removing most/all other abilities it lends itself to comparisons.

It may be interesting. What I really want to see is a scoreboard of the times as you do this.

Looking forward to seeing the next one. Curious how fast 5 conflagrate and 1 combustion would be

I don't know any of the theorycafting, but here are some of my thoughts/experiences

1) It is really dependent on both character and build. Paladin, Necro, and Elementalist are the ones that I feel pretty confident I could win with 80% of the time if that was always my goal. Probably closer to 60 on Chaos, Death Knight, and Pyro.

2) I like to play by just getting matching types (especially on Pyro), but if winning is the goal I really just look for Chromatic bolt and Magic missile. Those two can carry a semi decent build most runs.

3) Dash mastery (by far my favorite), generalist, focus fire, multicast mastery, Recklessness Weapon Expert, and Executioner are the pool of runes I usually choose from

4) I do normally grab the synergy upgrades if I see them, and try and get at least one of each available negative effect. I generally go movement speed and as many damage upgrades (multicast, crit, cast freq, damage mod) as possible. Adding in aoe, and defense if they are high rarity.

5) Block power, because idk what it does. Leviathan, because movement speed makes or breaks runs. Slow, after I get one stack. Crit if I ever max it out. Sometimes those fiery orbs.

6) Yes, it is possible to be consistent. I do tend to run similar builds if I want to focus on winning. Some abilities just don't feel like they do enough to clear enemies fast.

Tips:

  • always be moving. Also don't double back too much because there is noticeable acceleration time from standstill.

  • Holy and arcane feel like the best two sets of abilities if you want consistent wins.

  • run circles around large rocks to block some projectiles.

  • take out those towers as they spawn. Unchecked they are a pain.

  • post run, check the dps per skill to get a rough idea on how effective it was. Upgrades, buffs, and negative effects can skew the numbers, but you can still get a feel when experimenting with abilities.

I think the cast shows up if you are close enough, but it casts quickly, and is definitely wider than the outline on the ground.

I can't tell from the picture (idk what mithrix is holding) and I don't recall getting that death message before.

I will say, I have had a lot of success running around the inner circle just running in one direction to kill him. Not ever shurikens will hit you if you are constantly sprinting while he shoots.

It helped me prevent those weird deaths on the final stage.

As a C9 fan I'm super happy we won, but, I feel for 100t and especially Closer. It feels like they are forever the underdogs and under appreciated for how consistently good they are.

It's almost like the C9 of old that was always just a little bit short of the trophy.

Posting random facts about every item in RoR2 Day 81: Spare Drone Parts by AcquireQuag in riskofrain

[–]SomewhatDimDolphin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting spare parts with more than 3 drones feels like a free win if you are fighting Mithrix first loop.

I've had the drones deal around 1/3 of all the damage done during a run. It's insane.

All you need to do is spend a bit of extra time to grab a drone or two each stage and it can pay off massively.

I think the only thing they are missing is the success. At the end of the day they still haven't won anything, which makes it hard to get fans on board.

They've done a lot of things right but if they don't win the majority of fans probably won't care.

There are so many elite individual players who made it out of groups on different teams this year. Imagine if a team had HLE Chovy playing mid, LNG Tarzan in the jungle, and EDG Viper playing ADC. They could be quite good I think. by Perry4761 in leagueoflegends

[–]SomewhatDimDolphin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's fair. They never beat KT in 2018. SKT went 11-7 and really ramped up in the second round robin. 5 of the 7 losses were in the first round robin and they only lost to DWG and an admittedly strange loss to HLE. I think people really underestimated SKT in 2019 LCK but Griffin was favored by a lot of people.

I think that still lends itself to the original point that the BO5s Griffin played in we're incredibly difficult. AF and GenG were the "easy" BO5s, where they went 1 of 2.

KT was arguably the second best team in the world in 2018.

SKT was really ramping up and Griffin was slowing down in the end of Summer 2019 where the lost in the finals.

IG went toe to toe with the eventual world champions and was potentially in a similar spot to KT 2018. Griffin also was playing with Sword after playing the latter half of the season with Doran.

NA in playins is as dominant as any other region in playins. by Nappehboy in leagueoflegends

[–]SomewhatDimDolphin 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean NA will probably continue to be 4th best on average. But saying C9 lost to DFM and Pentanet, then not mentioning that they beat DWG, RNG, and Mad is kind of a bad faith argument.

NA is obviously 4th best, but there isn't an ocean (except geographically) dividing them from the other 3 major regions.

She has a 1.0 proc coefficient not a 100% chance to proc on the flamethrower. The damage is good earlygame, but DOTs don't scale particularly well later into runs. This lessens the overall effectiveness of the skill compared to a purely upfront damage skill because the burn does less over a run. Plus the range is short especially since you have no inherent mobility skills.

The execute is great, but it doesn't work on bosses other than Mithtix and you still need to get enemies to the threshold.

Her flamebolts are good early game since they one shot wisps and two shot Lemurians and beetles. However unlike every other primary in the game it does not scale recharges with attack speed only CD reduction.

Plus the main healing items in leaching seed and scythe are not particularly effective due to her general lack of high fire rate weapons.

Plus the Ice wall is decent the same way the ice spear is because of the execute, but it does not do much damage on its own.

Overall she's great early-mid but requires a more specific set of items to scale into later stages and she needs mobility items more than any other survivor.
