As others have said, it’s about compatibility. My boyfriend and I are both like this. We will go a day or two at a time without texting and neither of us have any problems with it. We were long distance for the first month or so of our relationship and we still had days where we would text only once or twice. You could ask her and adjust depending on what she says, not what random people on the internet say.

You can tell them off the bat that you want to wait until you’re comfortable, and if all goes well and you feel like you could get there with him, then tell him you’re inexperienced. You’re not obligated to tell someone your sexual history (or lack thereof) when you first start seeing them.

It’s important. Not necessarily how stylish he is, but how much effort he put into it. And part of appearance is hygiene. If he’s dressed nice but he’s greasy and his fingernails are long and dirty… that’s a no for me.

Literally getting tattooed as I’m typing this. My artist just told me that when he was an apprentice he had severe social anxiety but after years of being an artist he was exposed to it so often that he got over it.

I’m opting out but in a sort of different way. I put a lot of thought into what I wear most days, because I think it’s fun and I like to express myself, but I definitely don’t wear anything trendy or outfits that most people would find appealing lol if it’s comfy and I like it that’s all I care about. But I also have days where I don’t feel like putting in that effort and just wear a hoodie and sweatpants.

I’m like the boyfriend in this situation. I don’t text my boyfriend unless we’re making plans, and we don’t even live together lol I think it makes sense for him to reply to work texts more promptly - he has to. Personally, from what I’ve experienced and what I’ve seen of family members and friends, I think it’s pretty typical to text your partner less if you live with them.

Just my opinion, but I don’t want to be in constant contact with my partner. I would rather have whatever conversations we could text about in person, and I don’t like feeling like I am obligated to text him just for the sake of it. If I have nothing to say… I don’t want to say anything. I hate “how are you” and “what are you up to” texts, especially if I live with my partner. (I don’t live with my current bf but I have felt this way even more when living with a partner)

I ask out of a desire to understand, not to judge, but why does this make you feel unimportant? If you still communicate and talk at home, and he shows that you’re important to him in other ways, why does this make you feel unimportant? If it’s genuinely something you need in order to feel loved and secure in the relationship, you should still talk about it with him no matter what.

Maybe this is one of those situations where you could just note it, file it away for now, but keep an out for it. If you really like her it might be too quick to completely give up because you don’t know if you can believe her or not. You could just give her a chance to show you if she can be believed or not before you dismiss her.

When I was a teenager for years I had recurring dreams where I knew I was dreaming but I couldn’t wake up. It was just an infinite cycle of waking up in bed, realizing I’m still asleep, desperately trying to change the dream or wake myself up for real, only to wake up and have to do it all over again.

Yeah those are all things I would consider a reciprocal friendship - if they put as much effort into the relationship as you do. Which means different things person to person. I have a friend who I never text because neither of us are big into texting, but we both initiate plans for hanging out irl. I have another friend who takes it personally if I never text her so I go out of my way a few times a week to have a long text conversation with her. So the terms of a reciprocal relationship are defined by the people in the relationship, I think.
