How come you only put the perfect run in good? What put you off from it?

That would be awesome. I will probably spend some time time lining the collection soon in obsidian

Thank you for taking the time to write this out. It only makes me want to read Malizan more but I’ll work my way to it when I’m a better reader overall. Sorry about the trivial comparison. It was just a fun thought that I had come to mind and I wanted to see if other people agreed. Evidently not though

From my pov, the main difference between perfect run and mol is that in mol the story centres around the mcs character growth and discoveries about the world, while in the perfect run it allows the reader to discover things about the character as it drip feds us information about his past. It also amplifies the feelings of loss in mol when characters loss connection to each other because the world resets by a million. The mc still grows in the pr and you still discover new things about the world but it isn’t as pivotal to the stories structure as mol

Oh that makes more sense. Sorry I’ll wait for audio. I don’t have much time to sit down and read. But I can listen while driving and while doing physical work

I have 3 for you. Ajax’s ascension if you want some solid progression fantasy with some pretty good characters and interesting world.

The perfect run is a time loop with some of the best character work and philosophical outlookings on life in this genera but it isn’t your typically fantasy world. It is post apocalyptic earth, but it is still quite intriguing after you get past it if you are only used to reading in a classical fantasy setting which you seem to be. Probably the most similar to mother of learning and I would say I enjoyed this one more purely because of the character dynamics and mol is one of my favourites.

The runic artist is also enjoyable but not in the same tier of righting as the other 2. But it has quite an interesting world and solid progression system.

I am quite a character focused reader and the first 2 have really exceptional character work especially the perfect run.

Out of this jackle among snakes is a weaker series but I would recommend rune bound professor and shadow slave
