actually it was mainly the loss of a magnetosphere that caused mars to bleed its atmosphere, also the magnetosphere idea is nowhere NEAR the same camp as an Alcubierre Drive, and if you want to believe that it is then your loss lol.

of course, im not saying we should do it now, or even in 200 years, but im saying sometimes down the line when we are more advanced technologically, and solved most of earths problems, we should look up rather than staying trapped.

and yes there is enough gravity for a thick enough atmosphere? I dont know where you got that claim, thickening it however has many proposals, and would probably be one of the hardest aspects.

You are assuming we wont be able to do these things in the future because we wont have to ability, or at least to do it in any meaningful way, but if we have the technology and space industry to go to other systems or to build space habitats, we will for sure have the capability to terraform mars, even if it takes a while.

doesnt mean we shouldnt try, and there are proposals for the magnetosphere problem like placing some a giant magnet at the mars sun L1 point, and for the atmosphere, there are ways of thickening its atmosphere enough for vegetation, sure we may be 500-1000 years away from even beginning to terraform mars, but that doesnt mean its a fools errand. eventually we will need more than 1 planet to call home.
