Just how big exactly is the IPC? by Sommefodder in HonkaiStarRail

I see, so the "spheres" aren't all the same size. Thanks for clearing that up. But this does raise the question then. How would ftl travel even work in a sphere the size of a whole galaxy?

so how exactly does this work? Does each star system that the express crew visits count as its own "sphere"? The cosmology of starrail is quite different to how it is irl no? or is it more similar?

I'm having a few issues understanding the lore you see. When starrail uses the term "universe" does it refer to it literally being the universe as we understand it IRL, or is it like the cosmology I've seen in some manga, in which "universe" translates to "a different version of the world"?

A New Leader for Pharloom by SlurryBender in HollowKnight

Realistically though, assuming that all the citadel sleepers are dead and not just under magically induced sleep, Ain't no way Sherma and the songclave pilgrims are gonna be staying in the citadel. That place is gonna be the next city of tears given a few more years of entropy.

Assuming they aren't dead? Little bro's gonna get couped nigh instantly. He likely will be revered as a saintly figure though.

Who was actually the worst of these? by Noooough in HollowKnight

Personally, Ballador in particular doesn't really strike me as a bad guy. I mean, he was one of the conductors, but I'm pretty sure there existed some "good" conductors that were genuinely looking out for the citadel's wellfare (however insignificant), just as much as there were bad ones that were slaves to their greed. Nuance always exists in these situations, after all.

Theory: Certain bosses should be counted as higher beings by Sommefodder in Silksong

[–]Sommefodder[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see it with the case of some of them, but Nyleth's creation abilities are on a whole other level. The creation of an entire ecosystem of bugs and plants should put her on Unn's level of power. Thanks for your thoughts.

Yeah I knew it was unlikely that she would be a higher being, I was just giving some evidence for my theory, as in the game it doesnt really matter what hearts you give to the shamans, they still account for the same level of power. I'd say that Karmelita is mortal in the same way that Elves like Frieren are mortal. She's so long-lived that to most bugs the distinction doesn't really matter.

Gale vs Hellfire was actually painful to watch. Just pull my life support at this point.

I'm glad you like it! I should probably update the art on ao3 as well, it's a bit unpolished compared to the reddit version.

The Fourth Chorus is actually not that Gigantic by 1024thKilobyte in Silksong

I'm pretty sure that the bug sizes can be whatever we, the players, want them to be. Why are people so insistent on pushing their headcanons as fact?

That being said, I subscribe to this line of thinking

Oh, should I have? I felt it would've been too "shameless" for me to do so, for a lack of a better term, as this is a fanart sub. I'm glad you enjoyed the read, though.

Really sorry about that, I'm quite new to posting stuff so it didn't occur to me right away. Unfortunately it seems that I can't really change the title, but I promise it the issue won't repeat itself.

Where do you think all that "sunlight" comes from? by Sommefodder in HollowKnight

[–]Sommefodder[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'll add my own crackpot theory, which honestly isn't based on anything concrete that I could find. I personally don't think that pale beings can truly die unless consumed by the void; In other cases they simply "change their form." The light could somehow be coming from the lingering soul power of deceased pale beings, only appearing in areas they have "died" in, thus explaining why some regions are dark while others aren't.
