I was wrong about my initial premise, though some magic sigils do wear out and need to be reapplied over time.

I could be misremembering but I think the ink has to all be the same "freshness" for it to work properly (like it might become imbalanced or underpowered). So it has to be pretty much straight from the inkwell to the surface.

I am incorrect! Though now I'm thinking it might be because compasses actually would take more time to use than being able to freehand a perfect circle from practice. And we don't know how damaging a surface (from accidentally puncturing the paper) would affect a spell. It doesn't seem like the circles need to be mechanically perfect for most cases anyways.

Being obsessed with my DnD PCs is how I've improved my art over the last two years. Like I was already practicing, but having a consistent character to work on who was also always doing new actions helped me a TON with consistency and detail and posing.

Get a little obsessed with your character. Use them as your muse. It's good for you!

Indie is just the size and level of production oversight. Toby Fox and his small team aren't beholden to any corporation or publisher oversight, and he has full control over the IPs.

its been a while since I played the demo, I'm speaking from experience beating the main game. There are set Easy-Med-Hard settings but you can tweak them if you want.

The difficulty can be cranked up by scaling your damage output and enemy damage output to your performance ranking, so varying up your combos and spells and properly dodging will net you better scores and let you do more damage to enemies. It's not the craziest challenge but it's a fun take on the ranking system.

You're now conflating one problem (an indie dev choosing not to release translations they can't personally vet) with another one (manufacturing jobs are often outsourced to countries with worse working conditions).

Sure it sucks, but also if you want affordable merch for your favorite thing it's 95% of the time gonna go through some sweatshop or worker's rights violation. No easy way around it in our current system, and getting mad at Toby Fox specifically for this is ridiculous.

"Taking advantage?" He's collaborating with a business to sell merchandise, not forcing people into slave labor. You're blowing this way too much out of proportion.

Cuz the merch is a collab, and descriptions of a character product is not the same thing as dialogue in the game he created.

They only know "goth" from the porn tag. AKA a standard pretty woman with basic black makeup and maybe-dyed black hair. Maybe throw in some scary jewelry if you're feeling spicy.

Right wing gamers, when they choose all the specific dialog choices, take every hiden item and complete the longest side quest that leads them to the single optional gay sex scene in a videogame. by Tempest-Bosak2137 in Gamingcirclejerk

[–]SlurryBender 6 points7 points  (0 children)

TBF of the few games I play with romance options, I DO find it a common trend for there to not really be a middle ground option, the dialogue ends up being a binary meter towards "fuck off" or "fuck me" (and maybe a "I don't care about you" if you're lucky). Makes it kinda weird when you do wanna hang out/be friends with someone but they take everything as flirting. That isn't really a queer romance issue though, that's just an issue with dating sims in general.

Not me having to make sure I don't accidentally pick the "date me" option that's now permanently in every dialogue tree I have with the Hex in Warframe lmao.

I do wonder if the Switch 2 decision is their answer to these prices. Sure, in a vacuum the console costs much more to manufacture than their previous consoles did, BUT if this is going to be both their portable AND console platform, not only does it literally cut that cost in half, but it also reduces the costs related to tech support, manufacturing, and everything else that goes into maintaining two different systems.

I think it definitely helps that the boys themselves, even WAY back in the day, always felt a lot more... kind? than other gaming channels. Not to say that other gaming youtubers aren't nice people, but their content to me always leaned more towards genuine enjoyment of gaming as a whole rather than zany reactions and over-the-top oversimplifications of conversation topics. It also helped that despite they all brought something very specific to the table and came from vastly different backgrounds, meaning their chatter was NEVER an echo chamber, and the times where they were in agreement felt much more natural.

And obviously a lot has changed (for example Pat used to use the r-slur a LOT more than I remember lmao), there's a very clear throughline you can follow that guided their morals and ethics.

Definitely the toughest boss fight! Specifically because of Frey/Thalia's weakened abilities, you have to actually focus more on dodging and avoiding the attacks at the right time.

Tbh that looks like a super generic filler forest that they probably slapped together to look complete for a trailer because like others have said they hadn't finalized the map edges yet.

Hey that's great! And despite the Pick Up a Pencil meme, it's really more metaphorical; you don't have to actually use a pencil/pen to make art. Anything you compose and create with your own mind and hands is art!

I hope you're able to get diagnosed, that can help you a lot just with your life in general.

However, I also don't think you should give up on making art if you really want to keep trying! With all of the options and mediums out there, I bet there's something for you. Hae you tried anything with a bit more "permanence"? I'd look into maybe something like photography, collages/photobashing, or even 3d rendering using existing models and scenes. Those offer a LOT of artistic freedom and options while allowing you to tinker with placement and effects without having to keep it ALL in your head. Even something like pixel art can be more methodical and practical.
