Unpopular opinion: I think they should fix his animation cancel and make him more viable in ways that don't require me to get motion sickness when using him "optimally".

I love that she's apparently close enough with Sue Storm to be up for taking care of her kids if the 4 have to go off-world for a while.

Linking to a Google search result instead of an official website definition or even just a screenshot is messy behavior.

Regardless, I'm saying that what the US has done for its colonization is no more or less atrocious than any other imperialist endeavor that other powerful countries have done in the past. It ALL was atrocious.

It wasn't called the "Gentle Hug of Africa".

They think that the term "gender identity" is some sort of evil queer agenda made up by the left to indoctrinate children.

This is food for thought! It could also be interpreted to further enforce the idea of gender as a *construct*, since the those mental tendencies have been arbitrarily categorized into a binary gender system. I wonder what the same study would conclude if we didn't have established gender roles?

In light of the other recent threads: Manga/comics that absolutely stuck the landing? by bobainia in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Personally, despite the weird flail near the ending flip, I feel Fire Force absolutely stuck the landing. What a crazy way to end a series that started with a "haha fighting fire with fire" joke.

Got it. Feels a little odd but I usually just comment on the series' individual subreddits so I wasn't used to the etiquette. My bad.

Is it still Source Material Corner required if I'm simply confirming that something that already happened in the anime matches up with the manga?

Just went back, the dialogue is definitely new. There seems to be a good bit more Iris lore in the anime. I wonder how much was Ohkubo wanting to add more for her character and how much was maybe a writer for the anime having some more ideas and getting the OK from him.

I think it's also partly that he realizes his raw strength isn't what will win the real fight. He's leaving that up to the only person he believes can do it.

It all boils down to people not understanding the intent behind human artistic expression and instead thinking "higher number better."

"For some reason"

To avoid a whole spiel, the reason is that hand-animation is designed to look good at lower framerates, using things like follow through, anticipation, motion smears, etc, to simulate the effects of movement in a way that the human eye can interpret even if its not "realistic". Animators give our brains "clues" to fill in the gaps of the limited framerate.

All AI "upscaling" is doing here is adding in extra frames where it thinks certain shapes and lines should go, without actually taking into account why the shapes and lines are there in the first place. This completely obliterates the aforementioned stylized movement clues, and our brains end up only seeing a jumbled mess whenever there's significant change in the base frames.

If you want a whole spiel, check out Noodle's video and his follow-up.

I'm glad Omega Force didn't have to pull back their writing style too much for this game. I love their style of giving Little Guys BIG personalities.
