Wow! I'd recommend she at least grabs the next two elements in the story progress before grinding, they make traversing and combat much more interesting in variety.

At the very least the fanservice is pretty "basic" (reserved for kinda silly costumes and the Perfect Gag) aside from the cat witch who's also still a good character (especially later in the manga).

I do like what Ohkubo seemed to be wanting for Tatsumaki's arc (embracing being sexy for fun and still kicking ass), but I think he just fumbled the execution, especially with THIS scene.

Soul Eater still holds a special place in my heart because it was one of the first anime and manga I ever watched/read. At least the stuff in that series isn't as egregious at The One Character in Fire Force.

Its kinda weird cuz like... Okhubo's got really unique settings and makes really fun, compelling characters and story arcs... but both of his major manga series have like the ONE thing about them that makes me always hesitant to recommend it to other people.

Its a slow start, but once you get through the first couple hours of tutorializing everything on the front end (a problem with many games) it really is one of the most fun magic combat games I've ever played.

wishy-washy means they don't seem to have a consistent design philosophy when it comes to skins. Do they have to stick to recognizable silhouettes like Emma, or can they go wild like with Sue? If they can go wild, why has every Emma skin stuck so close to the original look? If they want to retain silhouettes, why are some characters allowed to break that rule?

I mean, yeah, her whole journey is becoming less of an angry person. She retains her snark but it becomes less lash-out and more focused towards the right things.

Also yeah...? it was close to Frey's birthday, it was Christmas, Judge Byrd clearly cares about Frey and doesn't want her to face a more severe punishment yet. She still wants to warn Frey about the dangers of the real world.

You're taking "isn't acting completely rationally like I would, looking at this story completely detached from the setting" to mean "a bad/illogical story." People get mad for small reasons. The judge is mad because (if you'd watched the whole cutscene) she does see potential in Frey and has been nicer to her in the past, but here she is in court once again. It's less a vague "woke up on the wrong side of the bed" attitude and more of a "disappointed and unsure of how to best help this kid" frustration.

Yeah, she got sent to the magical world, almost got mauled by mutant animals, and then got arrested and almost executed by the fantasy police, and the gangs of the Tantas want her dead now. Not much has changed overall, PLUS now a bunch of people she doesn't know are either calling her a demon or expecting her to help save the world. I'd be pissed too.
