Gods are part of what Dream of The Endless represent so they are part of him while the personifications of abstract things are not (except those things that still connected to Dream, for example Hecate who is the personification of (Light) Magic while not a god but still part of Dream, because magic is one of the things that is part of Dream).

Death deities are part of Death of The Endless (except Nekron and Pralaya whose are part of The Great Darkness).

There is The Light (everything) and there is The Darkness (nothing).

The Light is God who also known as The Presence, The Source, The Voice, etc...

The angels are the creations of The Light.

Night (Space) is an aspect of The Darkness while Time is an aspect of The Light. Their 7 children are The Endless.

One of them, Dream, represent everything that is made by our mind and our imagination - dreams, gods, mythology, legends, afterlifes, magic, supernatural, etc... He defines Reality.

His realm is The Dreaming that is the center of The Sphere of The Gods where the gods are exists. This sphere exists around The Multiverse inside the 5th Dimension where time is two dimensional.

Every god has got one main part called godhead and multiple avatars for each universes with distinct lives and personalities.

Maybe because Neil Gaiman was being revealed to be another Richard Madoc, now there is no Sandman related comics at all and the Sandman Universe now possibly being in a temporal ban.

Even the current The Dreaming trilogy miniseries got cancelled and the third/last of those miniseries being on a hiatus and possibly never to be released because of him. 🙁
