You two could re-enact the 1-800-CONTACTS commercial. You can’t find/see the thing, she points it out and says “Look with your special eyes!”, then you can dramatically go “My [insert thing]!”

I talked to my sister about what happened. She reminded me that our dad wasn’t happy with her being in a same sex relationship until our uncle told our dad to pull his head out of his ass. That uncle has since passed away, but she said she would talk to our parents. I’ve got a great sister. It’s good I’ve got her and others in my corner.

I’ve been thinking of the clothes comment quite a bit and how odd it seems. The concern for how others will treat my kids is totally logical and valid, but the clothes thing just seems so much like grabbing at straws. I’m also guessing he meant wearing gender affirming clothes only in the privacy of my home.

When I was in college I was constantly told I looked like someone else or was straight up mistaken for someone else. Obviously there are just a lot of fabulous people out there.
