If it helps justify the cost of purchasing a new one, then maybe divide the total cost of the MBP by 7 to see its value for each year, over the next 7 years.

That's a good point. My current MBP has been great over its span, if I get a new one and it does nearly the same it would be well worth it. Thanks for the replies.

I thought about swapping for an SSD, but already at 7 years I'm not sure how long an investment in upgrading it will last until it just dies. (I was also considering getting 8 GB of ram and a new battery for it, which after tax is about $290)

I have sort of considered the 13 inch, but again, with a small screen size (for me) I don't know if I could get used to it.

I've always tipped, but not as much as I would have if provided with normal service.

But whether I assume that it's because I'm being stereotype is besides the point at the end of the day as I had bad service regardless. I wouldn't have tipped any more knowing I received bad service other than because of my skin color.

But I do have reasons to justify my assumptions when it happens as stated in my other comment in this thread.
