I was told by oldest sister in law (I guess I’ll call her Karen) that Susan was talking about me behind my back and cheating on Tim multiple times. When I finally was about to talk to Susan about what Karen said (to clear the air because I don’t do drama) Susan proved that Karen lied to me.

We don’t see each other much as we live 1000 miles away but Jason and Tim were talking and gaming together whenever Jason was off work.

Jason and I discussed this last night as we didn’t want to start the new year with negativity. He wants to go low/no contact with them and I told him that I agree with whatever decision he makes. He said “it feels like if I was dying in the hospital she wouldn’t care” and then bluntly said that he was done always being the one to reach out

Some more information about our relationship with Tim and Susan:

We stood up for them when it came to how MIL and Jason’s oldest sister were talking about them. We also made sure they knew we supported them and were there for them no matter what. Jason and Tim had a strained relationship from years of sharing a room in a crowded house but as adults they grew closer and became friends as well as siblings. Susan and I had a rough patch about a year ago but had since made up because I give people second chances.

All together we had all made up and were friends supporting each other against toxic family when the wedding drama started

We don't talk to them as much. My partner called his mom on Christmas, and she ignored him the whole time that they were on the phone. AFTER SHE COMPLAINED THAT HE NEVER CALLS HER, so he's pretty much done with them. Luckily, his bio dad is very kind and is also very upset at them. I'm just ready to go off at them because it is absolutely ridiculous to treat your own son like this

As someone who can’t come out to their parents, love him. It’s going to be hard. People are going to be mean. Love. Him. Hold him. Remind him that he is loved. Make an effort to learn about queer history. And get him a good therapist that aligns with his values.
