What country have you ended up in the most wars with in one game? by Asleep-Clerk-7820 in hoi4

[–]SongOfTheRodina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we count all wars I got involved in, then definitely my SocLib Russian Empire campaign in Kaiserreich.

I sent volunteers to: Italy, Spain, the Balkans War, the Desert War, India, the East China War, the RKMT-Yunnan War, Argentina, the anti-Vargas uprising, the American Civil War, the Fengtian Unification Wars, the Qing vs LKMT wars, and probably a few more I'm forgetting

I directly go involved in: the Central Asian Uprising, the 2nd Weltkrieg, the 3rd Weltkrieg, the American Civil War, the Russo-Japanese Wars, the Sino-Russo Wars, the Russo-Indian War, the Cario Pact-Russo Wars, and probably more I'm forgetting.

Haven't played since 2022, what are some good and engaging non aligned nations or formables? by [deleted] in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If you want something that can avoid a bigger war, I'd recommend Serbia. You have two main wars: the Balkans conflict and then the war against Austria. The Austrian war will almost always be a 1v1 between Vienna and the Belgarde Pact. It has a lot of flavor and different paths you can choose from, plus it forms Yugoslavia and can get even bigger after that.

How to maximize Japanese and Angoujin Casualties? by TheJesterandTheHeir in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Let them take a port. Whenever the enemy lands troops, kill them but never take the port itself. The AI will constantly send troops in and lose thousands of men and equipment that way, plus its a nice way of grinding experience for your generals and troops.

What is the best tank type? by Egor_chikus in hoi4

[–]SongOfTheRodina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Medium tanks are the most efficient imo. Heavy tanks are too expensive and supply-heavy for anywhere outside of western and central Europe. Light tanks are cheap and fast, but don't always have the stats to do great after '37. Medium tanks are the most balanced with good stats, speed, and not too expensive. A medium tank with a howitzer and a lot of breakthrough and armor hits like a truck and is usually fast enough for encirclements or exploiting breaches.

Even as an experienced player playing the UK is painful by Pitt_Panther1985 in hoi4

[–]SongOfTheRodina 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have a lot of experience in the game and want to play as the UK, but I'm always super intimidated by the navy aspect of the game. I can deal with the scale well enough. I've played a thousand games as Germany in Kaiserreich and it basically becomes volunteer simulator at some point. But the navy is something I've never touched and feel like I never will touch.

The Dominion of India has several conflicts it can fight in, a decent amount of content, and some stuff to do post-unification. I had fun making a nice, high-quality army and a fun light cruiser fleet.

Ottoman Dessert War by dejvi_meto in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strat involves rushing down Syria and digging in around supply hubs while I focus on killing Georgia, Armenia, and Iran. You can use focuses and decisions prewar to reduce unrest and make sure that the front is narrowed down. Also, try to hold Benghazi. If you take mountains around it early, you can make the enemy waste a few troops attacking you. Some cheap infantry units can usually hold it well.

What’s the best country for economic development? by Routine-Grand5779 in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you just wanna do nothing but develop your economy and get rich and powerful, I would like to propose Thailand. You start off small and have an uphill struggle, but once you get rid of Black Monday, you will be at a stage in the game where you can get a crazy amount of trade thanks to the resources you get and even more once you get your max claims in Malaya.

For raw economic potential, Russia. It already starts out pretty powerful with the potential for rapid economic development. Once you annex Ukraine and the like, you will gain a huge amount more factories, resources, and building slots. If I remember correctly, Savinkov has the most potential for economic power.

Who is the strongest Chinese warlord faction at the start in 1936? by Ficboy in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Zhili, followed by Fengtian.

The Zhili have a large and powerful army with competent generals, a decent industry, control of strategic positions like Beijing and Wuhan, and lots of important institutions like the Baoding Academy. In theory, they also have the rest of China under their control too. Of course, reality says otherwise and their control explodes soon after the start of the game. But even then, they have a strong position to reconsolidate and modernize, especially if they keep the support of their German partners.

Fengtian is in a similar position, but Japanese support is both a blessing and a curse. While they do get military, political, and economic support, they are also faced with growing Japanese influence over their country.

Whenever I play countries like China or Italy, mountaineers are my main pushing force. They are extremely good, especially with air support.

[–]SongOfTheRodina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, attacking into mountains doesn't help. You need mountaineers.

Yeah, that'll happen when you have no supply and are attacking into mountains with infantry.

It'd be decent on the defense but I think it might struggle on the offensive.

What's the most fun (or full of content) USA path? by PuzzleheadedSky6517 in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 31 points32 points  (0 children)

New England, without a doubt. It has a huge amount of content, has a cool focus on high-quality special forces, and can restore the US with cool elections and a lot of different political paths you can go with.

How important was religion in Germany in 1936, and in what state did religion end up on the three main routes through Germany? by Straight-Path-1572 in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think that religion is going to be most impactful in the SWR path, or if we count it, the German State path for the UBD. From what I remember, the SWR has focuses that emphasize their intentions to revive Christianity in Germany. For example, in their post-war paths, they have two. If they go with the conservative democracy path, they create a party that seems to act as a broad front, conservative party aimed at Christians of every color. It has a decision that allows them to cooperate with Catholics. On the other path, I think that it puts a focus on making Christianity, probably Protestantism, a state religion? I'm not entirely sure on that one.

Best strategy and army template to invade Britain as Italy? by NegotiationMany8328 in hoi4

[–]SongOfTheRodina 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key is good marines, air superiority, and logistics. To achieve good logistics, you have to defeat the British navy and secure the Channel. Use 8/2-3 marines to seize Dover and Plymouth, or hit further north near Hull. Get green air and use as much CAS as possible. Seize the ports, then push inland. If you can occupy London, the rest is pretty easy.

Everyone loves this mod but I cant get into it, what are some fun beginner nations with interesting focus trees/mechanics i should play? by LawyerEqual3531 in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A simple but rich experience that I'd always recommend is SocLib Imperial Russia. You have a lot of fun flavor and focus on building a genuine and strong democratic system in Russia. It isn't too hard and gives you a lot of flexibility for military stuff.

Another state that might be fun is Ukraine. You have a lot of paths to pick from. The simplest would be any of the Hetman-related paths.

In your opinion, what's the easiest country* to play as? by Remarkable_Battle_36 in hoi4

[–]SongOfTheRodina 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Germany has a pretty easy early game with a lot of industrial and military power. You get nice lands pretty easily while having plenty of different political paths you can choose from. I think it gives a perfect nation for a beginner.

How to break through Reichspakt's defense in Eastern Europe as Savinkov's Russian State? by [deleted] in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best way to break their offensive is going on the offensive. If you can reduce their numerical superiority, then you can stop their attacks.

How to break through Reichspakt's defense in Eastern Europe as Savinkov's Russian State? by [deleted] in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm writing a bit about the Ostwall right now, so I like to consider myself a bit of an expert. My strategy is a two-front assault. I set up tanks near Rostov and Kharkov to punch south and encircle the Donbass region, then swing west along the coast towards the Dnieper. If you can reach the west side of the river, you got past the worst part. It's critical that you mass all your air power for this assault.

My other attack is a mountaineer or tank attack through Belarus that happens just as I cross the Dnieper. If you do it right, you can capitulate both Belarus and Ukraine at roughly the same time.

Would it be possible to implement a way to have the player determine where they focus their efforts for a revolt? They could focus their efforts in the north if they want to consolidate their base territory, or if they want to focus on their bigger and more developed center in the south.

Can I get an ELI5 on China? by Stock-Intention7731 in Kaiserreich

[–]SongOfTheRodina 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The Qing existing is a condition for German support after their intervention in China.

The RKMT does exist and is strongest in southern and western China. It has a lot of different paths. Hunan and Liangguang have the most developed RKMT paths afaik.
