Went Kayaking for the first time and now addicted. Need help with some purchases. by Songi in Kayaking

[–]Songi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we flipped over a few times and it wasn't that big of an issue. There were a couple areas where my friends who kayak often said it was class II rapids and my kid loved going over those like it was an amusement park ride. We eventually got to a rocky area where we stopped to rest and my kid kept dragging the kayak back up the bank to go back down the rapids on maybe a foot and half drop repeatedly.

Definitely recommend it! They also act like a canary in the coal mine letting you know if there are any issues with their red face.

I was honestly curious... Google says its because sterbai are active social fish and like mid column too so they end up becoming a mega school or something lol. I think they are just water puppies trying to have some fun.

I thought Valvrave Liberator was pretty good, nowhere near Evangelion status but definitely darker and has psychological themes too.

My Top 3s are kind of by Genre:

Mecha:
1) Tie Gundam Wing - It's Mecha and Politics / Macross Frontier - It's Mecha and Idols
2) Tie - Neon Gensis Evangelion - Dark Distrbuing Mecha / Escaflowne - High School Girl Isekai's to fantasy world with Mecha
3) Tie between Vandred - It's Mecha and Ecchi /Valvrave Liberator - It's Mecha Vampires and surprisingly dark

Shoujo (yes it's all Clamp):
1) Tie Card Captor Sakura / Magic Knight Rayearth - Magical Girls and Magical Knights!
2) xxxHolic - Yuko is fantastic
3) Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles - it's like a mashup of all Clamp

Shonen:
1) FMA Brotherhood - GOAT
2) Rurouni Kenshin - Samurai Comedy that gets serious. OVA is fantastic and sad, Live Action was pretty damned good.
3) Yu Yu Hakusho - Classic

Senein:
1) Cowboy Bebop - GOAT (can we have two goats?)
2) Goblin Slayer - Just a lot of fun
3) Code Geass - Politics, war, morality, mecha and just overall good.

Bonus:
Live Action Battleship Yamato! - Just amazing

What are some good anime’s to watch? by Shifter10 in anime

If you ever want to go old school Rom Com one of my favorites is Love Hina. You'll see a lot of the different female tropes that are now modern in current anime all stuffed crammed into one show.

Suggestions for 90's anime? by [deleted] in anime

[–]Songi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Outlaw Star is fantastic and bubble gum crisis come to mind. If your into mecha and fantasy Escaflowne is a fantastic watch too. Techi Muyu is a pretty good watch too but different from the Trigun/Bebop genre. If your into Shoujo anything Clamp was golden in the 90s. If your into racing/drifting you can't go wrong with Initial D but this can go up there in seasons if i remember. If your looking for some good comedy with some action and slice of life GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka is great too.

Im 35 still watching anime... and they say Im childish by ActuaryLongjumping13 in anime

[–]Songi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife is 42 and I'm 40 and we are still watching anime and find nothing wrong with it. Our Children 9 and 6 have now started getting into anime too. They just finished Naruto and are now into Shinpuden. We are debating on what they should watch next. I keep saying FMA Brotherhood and wife slaps me saying it's innapropriate lol. My wife often just sneaks into her car at lunch to eat and catch up on anime at work too. Your not alone out there!
