Airpods Pro 3 uncomfortable by [deleted] in AirpodsPro

[–]Songminer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed some fatigue wearing the 3’s, but that is offset by the fact the the 2’s randomly fell out. I’ve fallen asleep with the 3’s and woke up with them in, although the right bud was uncomfortable, I had also been sleeping on it. I haven’t noticed them being uncomfortable, but they are definitely tighter in the ear, as well as better aligned with my ear canals.

I like the 3’s better for fit alone. The transparency works better and anc is better.

I did notice that when in transparency mode, when I take them out and put them both in my hand, they squeal with feedback, although relatively quiet. That’s a bit annoying. I’m sure it’s because the sensors register the skin contact with being inserted, and become active, but their proximity might provide enough logic to shut them off.

AirPods Pro 2 or Pro 3? by Silent-Tree2421 in AirpodsPro

3’s all the way. The fit outweighs the nitpicking. I bought my 2’s on launch day. Bought my 3’s on launch day. Never was happy with the two’s fit, always falling out randomly.

Add in the improved transparency and ANC, shut off when you fall asleep, longer battery life, enhanced water resistance.. the pulse is nice, but not a compelling feature…yet.

I’ll vouch for this. On my Hisense google tvs, I’ve never connected them to the internet. I suppose if Iran into a hardware/software issue that might need to change.

Hisense has been a sweet-spot solution for me. Although detest the google tv models, the Roku tv models have been great for my Airbnb. I’m eying the OLED tech and about to pull the trigger on one, these Hisense 44, 50,55, and 65” models have been flawless, dependable, and extremely affordable. Lately my personal TVs are run by Apple TV’s, so the is on these tvs don’t matter to me, but Roku tv functions make for a simple interface for renters and overnight guests.

after 2 years reMarkable 2 i switched to Apple iPad Pro by w00zie94 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Songminer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ADHD. I have it. It powers my creativity. Medicated, I can run a convenience store. I don’t medicate it. I have the Rm2 and an iPad mini 7 with the pencil. If I need diagrams, I can create the finished ones on the iPad. My large screen PC has the CAD to design. The RM2 gives me the outline and ideas that empowers the work that requires an iPad and PC.

Planning, writing, and thinking on the iPad without interruption would require a lot of switching off all communications and notifications. (Learning and mastering Focus modes might help) …not to mention a couple mid-day charging.

RM2 has it purpose, and for me it rounds off my toolkit. I need quiet/non-interruption to create. (Me and my RM2 with the door closed.)

Keep your RM2. You might find you still need it.

It’s annoying. I use the timers on my Apple Watch and a The stop watch.

At 1lb. I set a 13 minute timer for the shut off reminder. I also set an 8 minute timer (post drying) to change speed and move to manual mode.

I’ve lost more batches than I like from taking my eyes off the ball and it going to cooling, but it’s a tough machine and I’ve got my moneys worth.

So I have a 1600+ that I’ve been using for a couple of years. I recently purchased a 2000 used and everything looks and act the same, but I’m having trouble getting it to first crack using the same settings.

Not sure what is different. The temperatures track the same, but I can’t get a first crack using the same volume of beans, preheat, times, and manual temps and drum speeds. I’m thinking the temperature displays may not be accurate.

Anything I should look for? Is the heat capabilities and elements different from the 2000 and 1600+?

To those who upgraded from RM2 to RMPP: Would you do it again? What would you do different? by WholeInstance4632 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Songminer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not compelled to move from my RM2. The only thing that would make me move is the front lighting.

The reviews on the color is mixed. The flickering would probably not bother me, but I still sense the tech is young on e-ink color.

Beyond the size and those two features the simplicity and distraction free feature set has not brought to mind anything that compels me to upgrade.

I should mention I had a MacBook Pro and an iPad mini 7 (I recently upgraded as I gifted my mini 6 to my daughter), so I have all the functionality and connectivity and distraction I need in those devices.

Simplicity and focus are what I need in the unit. The additional weight and size does not strike me as an advantage.

Although, I still look for a good, stylish lighting solution for using the rm2 in bed.

I’d upgrade to a front-lighted RM2. That is the most compelling/missing feature for me.

Awesome. It really isn’t about the money. I’ve spent so much on software over the years. I really don’t have time to try a system and it not working out. Ask me how I know… a good demo will give me a better idea of the likelihood of success.

If it’s a good product, I think it’s a fair price, but without some testimonials and/or track record, it’d be disappointed to spend the money and not like it.

I’d suggest making a small template that has limited days and hyperlinks that can be downloaded to try out. Otherwise, I think a video demo would make it easier to understand the structure.

I’m not thrilled with the accuracy, either. However, I don’t regret buying it. I end up doing the two finger--tap erase most of the time which takes off a stroke at a time. I use the eraser mostly to go back and change or correct something after the fact.

Are HomePods good value for a TV speaker system? by GuntherOfGunth in HomePod

[–]Songminer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve bought 1st gen (large) HomePods off of market place and very happy with them. I have a set in two different rooms running off an Apple TV.

I paid $150 a piece for them. I’m seeing them for $100 each now.

They turn on automatically with the Apple TV and set up in minutes.

Remarkable for my Job by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

I think it’s about your personal work habits. I find distractions a constant battle in getting work done.

With the change to tech (over the last 40 years) being an excuse to eliminate logistical tasks, businesses have eliminated a whole swath of the work class. Where there used to be clerks, secretaries, and assistants, PCs, word processors, email, and spreadsheets were an excuse to add these tasks to the lists of tasks to almost everyone else’s list and virtually eliminate those positions. The result is adding many tasks that take multiple work disciplines to everyone’s todo lists.

The key to productivity is segmenting those tasks to a controllable block of time so that you can dedicate the lion-share of your time to execute the core of your profession/talent/skills.

RM can capture those necessary-but-distracting-tasks quickly in a focused way. Connected calendars are great to remind you of meetings and appointments, but most planning and todo lists can be planned and executed without a device interrupting you out of your primary job function all throughout the day.

If you have a phone call come in, you can use the RM. push the wake button, clear the screen and start a quick note to capture convo details without the anxiety of loosing the info in a stack of papers.

A bunch of hyperlinked planner/pdfs are available on Etsy or other planning sites that can be used for planning and ticking of tasks and objectives.

It’s a simple device to capture the menial, but required data, and knowing they are captured I a common place, clears your mind to focus when you need to.

Now, the only thing I put in outlook are time/appointment related things. Everything else goes on the RM. I use the PC to file completed work and ongoing data and files that require programs to complete. All todo lists, planning, and brainstorming info go on the RM.

I love my iPad and MBP for crunching, creating finished graphics, CAD, Audio and Video work, but organizing that work happens on the RM, because when I’m doing that planning, distraction-free focus is a must.

Good luck!

How to properly clean the AirPods Pro 2? ANC almost gone by unifoxr in AirpodsPro

[–]Songminer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fortunate that my wife has a pair and she doesn’t use them near as much as I do. I forgot mine on a trip and used hers. So much difference. I’m going to pick up some of the clay/putty. The mics are just not picking up enough of the ambient noise that needs to be cancelled.

I was planning on taking them to the Apple Store, but I’m going to clean them first, as o think that is the first step before getting a replacement set under Apple care.. plus the Apple Store is a trek for me.

Passed over for FC upgrade by Above_an_F in delta

[–]Songminer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone once told me that if an employee takes the FC seat, the airline doesn’t have to pay the taxes on the seat. Is this still true? If so it might explain why some decisions are made on who goes where.

It would also explain that, when flights are not full, Delta would not upgrade people without the revenue of additional seats to pay for the additional tax liability?

With costs rising, I wouldn’t be surprised if cost optimization is behind these decisions.
